    Well.

    As somebody that is playing on Spriggan for a long time too, I can tell you that most of the active players are either in Solution Nine, or in their (FC) houses. They might have went away after they finished the MSQ too. My FC was pretty active when the expansion dropped, and they didn't come back since finishing the raid tier. They will most likely come back on 7.1. As things stand now, most players on Chaos are raiding on Light or joining pfs on Light because that is where most pfs are. It definitely wasn't as bad when the expansion dropped, but the whole DC has been a complete desert since last month.

    That being said, I believe this is all due to the decision to split Chaos into Light and Chaos back in Shadowbringers. The active population didn't particularly justify that split either at the time, but whatever. Case is, interDC groups are the norm. If you close one off, you're going to break most raiding groups whos active at the moment, and that is going to make a lot of people quit entirely if they can't play with their friends.

    I'm probably asking for a lot here, but if we could have a proper server merge with all the European worlds accessible from one DC, this would solve the issue in one strike and we wouldn't have to worry about when cross DC /tell and groups being implemented. That way, we get no house demolished, we get everyone accessible from a few clicks and everyones happy.

    Moreover, we already witnessed server-bound pfs dying at the end of Heavensward in favour of DC-bound groups. Now, the same thing is happening on a DC level, and frankly, the neat thing is that it can be fixed without removing servers.

    Simply have PF be cross DC, as well as the DF, although the latter can come a bit later since fixing the former will already alleviate most of the issues.

    DC travelers have extra advantage at least - since they lose FC buffs, they can take two extra buffs before hitting buff cap

    the problem with crossworld pf will be the sheer amount of pf in some of the data center and at time you will have a invasive amount of RP pf popping to that could cause problem

    Most of chaos players are in light and not necessarily raiding, i’ve been playing an alt recently and DF queues took 40min as a GNB, I switched to light and it was insta pop.
    It’s crazy, People even go to light for Eureka/Bozja content.

    I’ve always raided in PF since Eden verse and now having to stay in light 24/7 just to raid and losing hanging out with friends, FC chat and retainers. It’s really boring and lonely. I even had full travelers savage party in light and it’s just sad to see. So many people quit FF because of chaos state now ._.

    I can imagine the new 24 alliance savage is gonna be a light only content as well

    I do believe merging light/chaos like how it was back in SB is the best solution, or just close dc travel. The first 2 weeks of DT were great even ultimate pf filled just fine.

    I feel like an easy fix would be that you have to be comprised of a party from your data center to raid. While it's new. And then maybe halfway through it's cycle unlock that restriction.

    But people will just transfer over. SquareEnix was dumb enough to give the players this much power over their communities. They should've been smart enough to see that it would happen. You don't have to have a Stephen Hawking IQ to see the outcomes of unrestricted travel.

    That would destroy statics because they are cross-DC now. That's why I think an easy solution is just to block off the Public High-End category to Travelers in Party Finder, leaving the Private version alone so that statics can still raid together but PUGs can't.

    I'd be fine with both having to raid at home until SquareEnix can implement a fix. It's not ideal, but your solution still leaves the biggest section of the problem free reign. Say what you want, but my idea fixes the problem of dead servers, at least on a base level. I would lock out transfers as well as give incentives to leave your crowded server to ease the congestion.

    How would my solution still allow the problem to happen? The problem is people transferring to PUG, clearly.

    it makes me wonder if theyre ever going to do anything with the cloud stuff they did whole test servers for a while ago now. if theyre gonna do all this to help with congestion, maybe its high time to switch over to a technology they clearly have access to lol
