so my question is what in the ToS you would rework?


For me it's actually simple just well what we can say some people read ToS to get other banned like sometime it's just a single advice like do I play with adult or 5 years olds?



Now on the RP side of thing I would like them to be more well punishing for the use of "mare" and "wi-fi".


you can agree or not but my question remain what would you change for better in ToS?

Because Mare is just shorthand for Mare Lamentorum, a place in the game, or at least that's why I assume it's used since it has plausible deniability, and wi-fi is very generic and can't be pinpointed to be about that topic specifically

If it's about the usage of them then aren't those already punished? It's just difficult for SE to track unless people discuss about using them openly

If they did, users would just find a new word. Like I see people use "Moon Dust" sometimes, or just "Moon"

I actually think the ToS is perfect. I used to wish it would just be a general "don't be rude" type of thing, then it changed to be exactly that and I'm happy.

But the thing is, it's not any sort of verifiable proof to a GM that anyone is using a third party program. If you say "Don't let people use this term in their search" then that doesn't make any sense because it's a valid place name in the game. Whatever the alternate meaning may be in the community, the GMs need something concrete to act on. Because it is a valid place in XIV so there is the chance someone could be using it for another reason.

The only way they would know it was mods was if they checked what was on our PCs and Yoshi-P has already said they are against putting in anything like that. Hence the, "don't ask, don't tell" viewpoint they have about third party tools.

They're not going to do that. They would have to put very invasive things on our PCs and they refuse to do that. There's nothing wrong with the current process. If someone doesn't want to use mods, don't use them. I don't mod my character. I like how she looks. And when they see the community is using certain useful mods, that tells them about things they may need to look at as QoL improvements. One of these is chat bubbles. We found in a recent interview that chat bubbles are something they are working on, and it's a common mod that players use.

yeah no it was always clear not to be rude what they did just created a space where everyone can report someone for explaining mechanics. happened to me i explained a tank swap got reported thanks i guess. what we have now is an empty chat in dungeons and trials thanks to the perfect ToS. i was in a dc call and someone just reported somebody for their glam like wow thanks to the ToS. I know there are a lot of snowflakes now days but if it trigger you if somebody explain something then i dont know. i think its not rude. Anyway good for you if you think this situation is perfect.
