I actually think the ToS is perfect. I used to wish it would just be a general "don't be rude" type of thing, then it changed to be exactly that and I'm happy.

yeah no it was always clear not to be rude what they did just created a space where everyone can report someone for explaining mechanics. happened to me i explained a tank swap got reported thanks i guess. what we have now is an empty chat in dungeons and trials thanks to the perfect ToS. i was in a dc call and someone just reported somebody for their glam like wow thanks to the ToS. I know there are a lot of snowflakes now days but if it trigger you if somebody explain something then i dont know. i think its not rude. Anyway good for you if you think this situation is perfect.

It was, but the rules were too specific before so you could find loopholes, whereas they are generic enough to actually just be "don't be rude". Most likely the GMs didn't see loopholes but players would and that would reduce the likelihood of reporting something.
There was never much talking in dungeons due to speedrunning. But I had a load of recent dungeon runs where people were talking a lot actually. So it just varies. It's like how most FCs don't have chatter. It takes someone to start it off and make conversation and break the ice.what we have now is an empty chat in dungeons and trials thanks to the perfect ToS.
when i started like end of Stormblood the chat was always alive. in ShB people been talking about the story situation in chat now all dead.It was, but the rules were too specific before so you could find loopholes, whereas they are generic enough to actually just be "don't be rude". break the ice is one thing but trust me i am not alone with this many people just dont want to talk anymore after the ToS change. But besides if you get trouble for explaining something then its way over the top and not rude. So people decide i dont greet i dont talk just run and never talk. I dont think its the only reason but a reason for some for sure. Me for example, After explaining a tank swap and get trouble for it will not speak in chat again which is sad i liked to talk to others and making jokes.

not sure about you but I find it damn hard to chat/type and run things at top speed. I chat if I am able ALL the time... and never had any problems at all. the only place where any chat happens now is MSQ... simply because you CANT speedrun it.when i started like end of Stormblood the chat was always alive. in ShB people been talking about the story situation in chat now all dead.

Not in my experience (in dungeons).
They were talking in city states such as Ul'dah (bias since I was on Balmung), Idyllshire (in Heavensward), Rhalgr's Reach (in Stormblood) and Eulmore (in Shadowbringers). But the truth is, the chat in city areas progressively reduced as the expansions went on - probably mostly because Discord became a thing, but also due to the amount of areas and mounts not being allowed.
I agree with you that many people do not talk due to the ToS or a time where they got in trouble. I just don't agree that this is universal.i am not alone with this many people just dont want to talk anymore after the ToS change.
I have conversations in the game every single day in various chats (NN, linkshells, FC, shouts, alliance raids and dungeons) and when I do, absolutely nobody has a problem talking to me. 99% of people in dungeons at least say a variation of "Hi" and "gg", so when we say they don't talk we must mean in between that.
oh really well when you will get suspended for asking a tank to turn stance on you will find it unfair trust me and like I said I play with adult not 5 years old chidren

I would have been suspended a hundred times over if you could get punished for asking a tank to turn on stance. It's the way you say it that matters. I've been around multiplayer games for a while and nearly every time a person claims they have been unjustly punished for chat, upon them providing logs, it turns out they were, in fact, being a massive jerk.
trust me i litterally told someone " please use provoke and shirk for a tank swap " and got punishedI would have been suspended a hundred times over if you could get punished for asking a tank to turn on stance. It also encourages for ppl to false report u till something sticks cause ppl are petty like that. XD it also why ff14 is called the silent game cause everyone so easily offended if u sneeze u could get ban over that.
You open the door theres nothing in sight. You close the door wondering whats in sight. But lets be honest its probably gonna just let you down.
