The only way they would know it was mods was if they checked what was on our PCs and Yoshi-P has already said they are against putting in anything like that. Hence the, "don't ask, don't tell" viewpoint they have about third party tools.

That's one of the things I agree with Yoshi-P on. I think they just need to be more draconian with players who are clearly modding. Cheat engine users sitting everywhere, streamers using UAV, etc...

Most mods don't bother me. IMO If people wanna coom, whatever. And some mods are definitely QoL improvements for Square's garbage spaghetti code which should've been fixed ages ago (no clippy). I just miss the early Shadowbringers days when everyone was very quiet about using mods.

It was, but the rules were too specific before so you could find loopholes, whereas they are generic enough to actually just be "don't be rude". Most likely the GMs didn't see loopholes but players would and that would reduce the likelihood of reporting something.

what we have now is an empty chat in dungeons and trials thanks to the perfect ToS.

There was never much talking in dungeons due to speedrunning. But I had a load of recent dungeon runs where people were talking a lot actually. So it just varies. It's like how most FCs don't have chatter. It takes someone to start it off and make conversation and break the ice.

I occasionally see a few posts on these forums where a player is complaining about getting temp banned for saying something in game, but the GMs won't tell them what it is they said that got them banned. I don't see why a GM just can't say: "you got banned for saying this." Instead its all just smoke and mirrors. If that's an issue stemming from the TOS I'd like to see that changed although it probably never will be.

when i started like end of Stormblood the chat was always alive. in ShB people been talking about the story situation in chat now all dead.

break the ice is one thing but trust me i am not alone with this many people just dont want to talk anymore after the ToS change. But besides if you get trouble for explaining something then its way over the top and not rude. So people decide i dont greet i dont talk just run and never talk. I dont think its the only reason but a reason for some for sure. Me for example, After explaining a tank swap and get trouble for it will not speak in chat again which is sad i liked to talk to others and making jokes.

not sure about you but I find it damn hard to chat/type and run things at top speed. I chat if I am able ALL the time... and never had any problems at all. the only place where any chat happens now is MSQ... simply because you CANT speedrun it.

I don't know when it started but shout has been filled with nothing but 18+ venue shouts but TOS doesn't do anything to them. The lack of gameplay content is really taking a toll on me and if FF11 raids and the new bozja content is disappointing then I'm done. Feels like SE became cheap with the service on this game and it shows.

Because at best, it invites arguing and pleading with the GM. At worst it provides adversaries information on how to game the system. I would wager in 99% of cases the player knows full well what got them banned and in very few cases does it provide any learning opportunities.
