    Already skipping encounter mechanics in normal mode at ~MIL

    I did reclears on storymode M6 yersterday, and I was actually surprised to see the party skip the thunder cloud phase partially. The time it took for the boss to go through each basic component of the bomb mechanics, the arrows, and then the environment repaints, the fire phase, that thunder was completely skipped. I don't remember actually, but is the order random? If so, then it's not that bad I guess since the first one will not be skipped...

    Either way this is a trend that's been ongoing for a while, M4 storymode also has this issue with the soft enrage that sometimes triggers too late because the boss is dying too fast and has to finish its current mechanic first. The last fight of Juno as well has mechanics I've seen only once in my life (Doom), and half of the last big mechanics is also skipped. probably more now that we moved up tiers.

    Note that I'm speaking of fights at release, and not the usual overgeared, outright fight denial we get later on when the tier gets older. At release, random parties already skip big encounter mechanics on some fights.

    What are we paying a subscription for this game even for? Skipping half the content? Or if we want to actually have unskippable content gameplay, just go play ultimates?

    I know they removed it because of nightmares like T7 but they really ought to consider returning hard phasing mechanics

    Like with wicked thunder, if she hits 20% she NEEDS to cancel her current mechanic and go straight into soft enrage. Same as M6. She should be skipping the arrow/bomb phase to make sure you see both Sandy and streamy muse

    As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

    I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    I personally think the difficulty for the average player right now is good where it's at. If you consider skipping mechanics = skipping half the content then that is just an overreaction I'm sorry to say.

    I had plenty of wipes in m8 this week, some groups are better than others, that is the randomness of duty finder, also we were never MIL. The MIL for the raids is 715. Most people who do the raids were already 730-740. If you want harder content with less skips go do savage, extreme or ultimate.

    It's also the case that many players wait until they can out-level difficult mechanics in normal content because they don't enjoy them.

    That said, the Crystal Tower series could really do with correction so we can see the bulk of the mechanics. I suspect the majority of us never have.

    If by you you are addressing me individually, then I frankly don't care that much about it, so I find it a little surprising that it sounds like an overreaction. I don't care much about their current pve design, so if I skip some mechanics, I'm not gonna lose sleep over it at all.
    But I didn't make this post out of personal tastes, but out of concerns for consistency. I don't think the encounter design of normal modes is a good design specifically because it doesn't account for the timeline, nor the gear sync. Imagine what this is going to look like at the end of the expansion.

    It's very sad to me that a lot of normal mode content in this game can only be fully experienced on patch (or week 1 in this example...) and mechanics are lost to time as players gear up and get more experience.

    Dont worry, you will see *more* mechanics as patch progresses and higher end raiders stop doing normal versions. If anything, you can expect that early weeks of patch will have faster normal kills
