    I've no idea either.

The best time to actually start the Field Operation would be 7.0.5. That specific piece of content tackles several parts of the casual-midcore-hardcore spectrum, but above all, it is content with a long shelf life. They could even add one zone each even patch, which seems to be the good middle term between too few (Bozja) and too many (Eureka).

"Oh we can't get this because 7.0 is the whole MSQ." I see this a lot lately in similar threads here and on reddit, and this is such a skewed point because you can literally be done with the whole MSQ in a bit over a week of play going very slowly. Not only that, but the MSQ is not repeatable content. And add to the injury that despite the writing being good or not, the MSQ practical execution and pacing is really poorly made.

It's only what they have done for the last 11 years. I don't know why you were expecting anything else when that's all they've ever done.
The majority of the playerbase is casual, isn't it? How can they forget to deliver casual content to do? Did I miss something? What do you think about this?
They did announce Chaotic difficulty alliance raids. Although that was initially described as Savage through translations, it's possible this will still be approachable for more midcore players due to them being large scale.
And are you also very unsatisfied that they had no new information regarding to the graphics update?
It would have been nice, but I'm really just expecting us to get updates to older areas and content which was unchanged so far.

I like the assumption that the "Hard Alliance Raid" is already so scary and terrifying for the Casual player base.
Didn't know people already could see the future. Then again, it falls on the debacle that nothing in this game is genuinely hard, as long as the player puts a mediocre amount of effort into learning.
Until people genuinely lose their fears of doing midcore content, they will always be "niche", and that's what drives the Devs away from trying to make more mid-core content for people.

I am not super-stoked over being just a "Trial fight", but I am genuinely excited to see how it will play out. I have been one of many complainers that Alliance Raids are ridiculously easy and not fun to do because there is absolutely no challenge at all.
After all, content that should last a good while, often is crippled to attend to a more casual playerbase and run the difficulty to the ground, much likely Ivalice Raids and even NiER raids, as people just don't want to do those because 'it is too hard'. We even have Echo buff in all Ivalice raids since then, it is baffling.

What will keep a decent longevity of the content is to see what rewards they will give, but they will only make more if there's engagement to it.
And I don't really expect anything from the community, tbqh.
FFXIV game is treated as a social MMO, and this has been the casual content players often play. Weird to complain, when the game is actually focused on those people and the lack of gameplay has been something real for years now.

Overall, the new things presented are interesting, but I feel like I need to see more.

Housing changes is A MASSIVE W, tho. Because that will really diminish the fights for Larges/Mediums unless it is for exterior purposes. Will be really good to have people be comfortable doing the things they actually want in decoration, and I can't wait to see it.

How can you say it is focused on casual content when all endgame patches are savage/extreme/ultimates? There is no casual content with longevity currently in Dawntrail. And not all of us RP and go to venues.

The game is a casual game.
A long-praised thing about this game is how all the content they put from prior expansions is retroactively something that the casual player base finds fun and engaging to do.
To Gold Saucer, to your Island, Society Quests, MSQ, Duty Roulettes, Adventuring Forays, etc.

If I am to be so bold, I would argue your complaint ain't the lack of Casual Content, it is the lack of NEW Casual Content.
Mid-Core and High-End players only truly engage on the most Current content, they have no actual appeal to do past content, for it does not equal a degree of progression and challenge unless you impose a lot of restrictions. And, again, this is part 1 of the LL, with more yet to be announced and they did announce Casual content amid the combat things too.

Plus, any content for Mid-Core / High-End players, is content for the Casual playerbase as long as they feel interested in trying it out.
This is a bridge they need to want to cross, this expansion I got my FC, who never stepped in an Extreme/Savage/Ultimate, or even knew their rotations, and we went to tackle the Extremes of Dawntrail.
We got clear in 2h and it was super-fun and chill, I had never done an Extreme while it was current content either.

Can't really complain there's no content when you don't want to engage with the content. We all know the Space-travel thing will not hold people at all, Deep Dungeon 4 will appeal to a niche, and the new Adventuring Foray will also have complaints about difficulty just like Bozja had, and only visited so people can mindlessly grind IF the Relic progression is tied to it. If it ain't? Oh boy, we all know which content Casual people won't be doing then.

Yes my complaint is new content. Since I said that in my post. Your solution is go do old content. I cannot want new content because old exists. You are getting your wish with more savage stuff so the game will finally become ehat you want it to be. The same as every mmo that appeals to raiders at end game and that is it. But its cool I have 10 year old content for me. Your elitist attitude is why people don't like the raiders. You mold the game to what YOU want and everyone else is irrelevent. All your arguments do not address anything in my post since you did not read it and that I said CURRENT content. Don't yoy have to go prog something anyway?

As someone who isn't very active in 14, what is changing to housing?

Right now, you will have the possibility to have space without the pillars in houses. But they talked about adding something later in the extension that will allow to have a bigger house inside that it is outside for money. So you will be allowed to have a big house inside, while getting a small outside, from what we got. maybe there will be limitation but we don't know yet and no date was announced.

As said, in due time they will implement a method that --With Gil--, you can remodel the interior of your House.
So your small can have the interior size of a Large or Medium, or if you prefer, the other way around.
The only thing that acquiring a Large or Medium would determine, is your usage of the exterior since it impacts the neighborhood in general, not your instanced area.
Plus, they are also adding that in those remodels, you can pick different options of pillars/stairs and even remove pillars so you have more room.

Housing enthusiasts (like me), will be probably spending a lot of time on this.

I know that this LL was part 1 of 2, but I'm slightly concerned that everything they listed was content that will be done quickly or is the "do once a day/once a week until finished" type of content, plus the Ultimate (which a lot of people do eventually, but let's be real, most people will just be watching the groups try to beat it first).
Nothing about the Space Exploration or the start of the relic. I don't even know how to count the Chaotic raid because I don't know the rewards structure (could be good, could be a dud like Criterion).
