if the gpu in that laptop is overclocked at all, it can cause these kinds of errors, even if you did not overclock it yourself as ffxiv does not play well with gpu overclocking. some gpus come already overclocked, so i would check if that is the case and try to downclock it back to stock speed to see if that solves the issue.
