I thought there was some formula that a patch would come out a certain number of weeks after the first Live Letter, so I’d be expecting late October or early November, hopefully!
What I posted is a near-worst case scenario, but we are averaging 4.5 right now so 5 is not out of the question and 6 could be on the horizon.
Apparently, according to other threads, there are rumblings of internal problems with CS3 with others meddling in the game’s development which is requiring rewrites, reworks, etc.
That could also explain the longer time and Yoshi’s silence on the situation of the game. It’s like he is letting the meddlers see what they have done before trying to take things back, if he can.
They're already making another new game(there were interviews around XVI's press cycle about how many XIV veterans were being moved to it and other future projects) and are overseeing an XIV mobile spinoff that Tencent's making. With how long it takes to get a game to market nowadays, a period of introspection would probably be 5+ years away.Feels like most of the budget for the game lately goes to Yoshi P traveling around, giving interviews that have no information or discussion in them. After XVI and Dawntrail I think the studio would be better served with a period of introspection.
XIV is starting to give off that vibe XI had after WoW had been out for a few years and the devs didn't have enough resources to compete so they gave up and just maintained what existed. I really hope we don't keep going down the same path of slow decay.
I lean in that direction too, seeing they are going to talk about 7.1 part 1 in this PLL. I'm mostly just interested in the alliance raid as an 11 player but doubtful we get details on that until part 2. Who knows, might tune in anyway.
Yeah, I don't expect much. I kind of hate the amount of information they dump on each LL, because when you get to see the whole picture, is not a lot.
They spend a LONG time recapping stuff that we know already, and then talking extensively about small details like the number of polygons on a Lalafell's cheek. The actual important information takes like 1/3rd of the time.
lol, you SE shills have insane copium. SE routinely puts out their financial reports and if their HD games actually were selling well this would be reflected in the fiscal release year the games released in, not to mention residual years for continued sales. It isn’t. They aren’t selling well. They’re dropping dozens of millions if not over 100 million USD on the budget and not even selling 8 million units after several years. They get a few million sales within the year and then sales drop and never pick up again. Video game companies LOVE to toot their own horn, but this is surprisingly (to you) absent for the FF7 remake games and FF16.
Any other AA action game from an established studio/IP is selling 10+ million units within the first quarter. And adding on another 10 million or more in the intervening years. THAT is selling well. God of War, Zero Dawn, even TLOU2. CoD.
Correction, any other indie studio putting out their very first video game would love SE’s numbers for their 16th entry in their primary series.

Nope, actually not consistent at all. Only consistency is the release date after the 2nd PLL (1 1/2 weeks). Time between part 1 PLL and patch release has been anything from 5 1/2 weeks to 9 1/2 weeks within recent expansions.

I…….one of the original foremost candidates of being a titanman alt and probably the most annoying healer main on the forums…….have been called a square shill
We may as well just shut the forums down now
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
Horseshoe theory is real.
7.0's official release date was July 2nd. Early Access started June 28th.Correction on the patch release, 7.05 came out 4 weeks after the release date of 7.0 which was the 30th. However, I think the longer patch cycle rears its ugly head in x.5 which is double the time of the normal launch schedule before the next expansion. Ideally this next patch should be coming out late October at this point but that would make it 4.5 comparatively speaking.
7.01 was when the Arcadion normal came out and that was July 16th.
7.05 which was the Savage patch came out on July 30th.
Roughly 4 months from July 2nd would be November 5th. If they go an extra week then it would be November 12th. So one of those will probably be 7.1, though the date of part 2 of the 7.1 LL will make it clearer which it will probably be. Or if they tell us in this upcoming LL when the next moogle event is coming, since that usually runs a month before the major patch.
Usually the first part is about a month and maybe some change before the patch and the second is about 2 weeks before the patch. But the LLs during TGS can skew the schedule sometimes since TGS doesn't always fall within those windows.
