Because there wasn't much difference in the video in terms of what people were actually wanting with varied animations -- We have to see if everyone has different weaponskill animations or not.
That's freaking epic Rukkirii! thanks for that info!
Nice!! I'm so excited!
I think its more fun & cool to have this idea implemented in FFXIV ver.2 .
Extremely happy Bards will finally do something other than the generic magic cast!
LMAOF! Good one, I'm all for it, please humor me more! XD
Though before you posted this, you stated that the DEV team prioritized race emotes before class/job & battle stance animation. I recent that but everything we're talking about is cosmetic and shouldn't deter the progression of the actual game content.Hey guys!
I would like to add some more information to my previous animation post!
In A Realm Reborn, conjuring magic, thaumaturge magic, white magic, black magic, songs, and other categories will all have different casting animations. Also, depending on the type of element, the effect colors will be different as well making it easier to distinguish what type of magic is being cast.
I would 100% prefer nice, original( and humorous) stances regarding race, sex and class.
Mages need to be in battle no matter what stance(or mode) they're in. The issue is, will they refresh their MP after after changing back to passive from engage? Their staffs and rods are almost like range weapons but the mage would have to be up close and personal with the engaged mob which IMO is ridiculous. They could be the same distance whether they're cast of using their scepter/ staff. Imaging the cool weapon skill mages could dish out! Again come the issue with mages engaging and refreshing their MP.
In FFxi mages were able to choose to engage and disengage and rest for MP. Let that be possible in xIv through the new stance system. Even as a melee class, we should be able to go passive and regen HP even while the pty in engage in battle. This was something that I noticed changed through many updates.
Hold on, I think we can regen HP during battle as long as you don't have hate. I've been able to disengage to passive mode during a Ifrit fight so to regen HP, sry.

I can agree with this, I've participated in a beta test before, where the developers set up a TS server for providing feedback in real time. After having the chance to actually talk to (and play with) the people making said game, I have to say I respect game developers more than I used to. There are always those unexpected glitches/bugs/exploits that no one anticipates, and they still have to keep a schedule in regards to what gets added what week, and in what build, since delays in development can be costly. Definitely not as easy as some people seem to think it to be.I love that guy! ~.^v
But seriously, people who don't work in the industry will never understand. Not trying to belittle people, it just a fact I've learned the hard way. If you ever actually get the chance to work on the development of a AAA video game, especially an MMO, you will be absolutely blow away at sheer amount of people, time, effort and talent go in to the process. A battle animation requires an Art Team, an Animation Team, a Sound Team, a Dev and Design team, Producers, QA and Executive approval. Assuming that every single one of those teams is dedicated to the task, its still up to a week or more in every teams hands, and that is assuming everything works.
I can honestly say, at every company I have ever worked for, those teams are never dedicated to a single task. It's just not possible.
