A DDoS is a distributed denial of service. The keyword here is DISTRIBUTED. It means there are A LOT of requests to the server all at once, which OVERLOADS the server.

When you login after being disconnected during a DDoS attack, you are CONTRIBUTING to the problem. You are OVERLOADING the server as well.

When there is a DDoS massive disconnection, stay calm and WAIT for 10 minutes before logging in again. The reason WHY DDoS disconnects can happen for hours is because EVERYONE is logging in at the same time after the first DDoS, and that causes ANOTHER DDoS. So PLEASE STOP.

SE is a public company, search for financial statements of Square enix from 2018 to 2023 you will know how much they spend taking non logical investments thinking people will buy their bad products

I wouldn't tell people not to log in because they're contributing to the problem (they aren't). During a DDOS, the log in servers are getting hit by several times over the number of actual players that want to log in. The player log in attempts are like a drop of water in a gallon jug.

I would tell them to wait to log in because they're probably going to get kicked from the servers again even if they manage to connect. Take the time to move around and stretch their legs, get some water, take care of other little things that need attention.

I know this is a bait post, but I'll say the following:

Stop defending the multi-millionaire company. YoshiP, the devs, and the executives are not your friends. We, as paying customers, should demand a better service, a better game. If they're not able to provide it then we can simply unsubscribe and move on to another game or with something else. We, as paying customers, should not ask others to not login because the multi-millionaire company is not able to deal with a DDoS attack, because they should have experience on how to deal with and manage a life-service game from such, and if must, then they should invest a better infrastructure or risk losing players.

*shrug* If SE thinks me logging in is an issue directly after a DDoS attack is hurting them, I will let them let me know or shut servers down temporarily while they fix the issue. Since, they are still online during most of these, then that most likely means that me logging in is of no consequence.

Also, I work in tech and I can say, I would NEVER tell my customers that a DDoS attack is their problem in the least bit shape or form. It's not, they have no power over it or to even help fix it. If people logging in is the issue, I fix that but if it's a DDoS, there is other ways you have to deal with it and players logging in have no metric over that.

It's funny how games with larger and much more toxic communities manage to handle DDOS attacks with minimal disruption of service. On the other hand, NTT's nodes regularly sh*t the bed all on their own and Square will do little about it.
