The good news is that the "ruler" characters have never become Scions. Leaders of the nation states. Aymeric, Hien, Cirina, Magnai, Sadu, etc. Lyse STOPPED being a Scion, in fact.

Crystal Exarch is the one exception, and he was a Student of Baldesion before he was the ruler of a nation state, so joining up with the Scions (a friendly partner of the Students even during ARR; that's how Krile and Minfilia knew each other) made sense as a lateral move.

Anyway, I suspect you're right and we're stuck with her for 7.1-7.3 but hopefully we get Koana to modulate her Wukkiness a bit.

Most likely answer - she follows the same path as Aymeric, Lyse, etc.. She'll be around and a significant part of the patch content but not as central as during the main MSQ, and then she'll pop up now and then in future expansions as a side character since we'll be elsewhere while she remains in Tural to be co-Dawnservant.

Edit: Adding my prediction now - the cabal on this forum will simultaneously gripe over her continued presence in the patches while also claiming "victory" for her gradually sliding to the background, completely ignoring that this is the standard treatment every character of her nature is given.

She'll become genderfluid/trans and the PC will have to be dragged through her ~epic transition journey~, since according to the Eng VA "Trans characters MUST be voiced by trans ppl uwu" and with Kate at his side and that sweet cash from SBI all the tourists will cream themselves before they go back to their erp "venues"
