Cant find anyone to progress criterion dungeons (Feedback)

I do like criterion dungeons and the challenge they provide. I dont raid anymore and would very much like to complete them, but its almost impossible due to lack of parties/players on partyfinder. There is never a group for my current progress and if i start my own, it never fills, even at peak times. This makes it very frustrating to get any progress done at all.

My suggestion would be: After entering a criterion dungeon, the party can choose to skip to any of the three bosses and start practising from there. Of course, choosing this option shouldnt give any rewards. It keeps its original difficulty (of clearing all 3 after each other) that way. I dont really see a point against this, since its practically 3 individual bosses that arent related to each other. E.g. for progging boss #2, i dont see why i should run through boss #1 for the 100th time if they arent related/affected by each other.

This would surely attract more people towards criterion dungeons, it would make progging easier, less frustrating and ease up the requirement to find 3 people for my current progress a lot, since everyone would be able to start at whatever boss the party chooses. If the group/individual players feel like they practised every boss enough, they can then choose a full run for loot.

Before anyone suggests a discord server for this: I am on said discord servers, but i still feel the need of adressing this here. Even those servers are quite dead and mostly just farm/savage parties.

The Criterion's were always poorly filled sadly even on release. The main problem is that there is no real incentive to go back and do old content period, whether that be Extreme trials, Savage raids, Bozja etc. The dungeons were also super difficult, if regular dungeons are at a 1 out of 10 in difficulty, then these were a solid 9 at least, really they are just 3 mini savage fights... I really wish they'd make more mid-core content instead of them having such a giant gulf in difficulty in every piece of content. I hope they do something to fix it in the next patch, adding more rewards to Criterion is never going to fix the core problems with it.

Making an incentive to help newer players clear old content would help immensely though. As the game gets a bigger backlog of content something will need to be done. A bounty for helping someone get their first clear on an old piece of content would be nice incentive maybe, something like " X-players are trying to clear Heavensward Extreme Trials at item level! Help them clear and get a special mentor crown or title!" Something that shows what content wants to be done and a reward for doing it even though you may have completed that content months or even years ago.

I know the struggle. Sadly, I don't think it will get any easier with PF.


Tbh the worst part about Criterion are the adds, they hit like a truck and that is what my team choked on the most often. I think skipping adds would eventually lead to people messing them up even more often, because they become used to not seeing them as often even if you should not underestimate them.


What I did was open a PF... but with the intent of recruiting for a static. Eventually, someone showed up and we've become friends over running the content! Considering you need to get 3 more to go with you, and if you can bribe any friends to come as well, hopefully you won't struggle as much to get a team going. Wishing you luck!
