Stuck with Never The Twain Shall Meet

It's not the known issue in the sticky thread however. I died during the fight between the two chaps on the boat as both of them lovingly cleaved my health away. However when I had to use return to get back, I have no way of getting onto the boat again to try again.

I'm a bit stumped as to what to do now, I've ran around the docks and spoken to everyone there and none of them seem to want to send me out to sea again.

1. I need to get back out to the galleon to proceed with the quest
2. There's no way that I can find to get back out there
3. I've read that the quest proceeds even if you die, meaning I probably messed up by using Return after I died.
