Wow I did not expect this thread to have a full blown debate lol. I've been playing MMOs for 10 years now and I'm pretty computer savvy, and never have I ever been hacked...not to say I won't ever, but what are the statistics on how well this system is working compared to other MMOs and how they do it?

It's fairly common for massively backed MMO companies to offer authenticators or security tokens. As for their effectiveness? Banks and other secure IT based companies use them. It's highly improbable (Nothing is impossible) to suffer a comprimised account with a security token.

It's been intensly debated topic on other forums (see recent D3 release and it's RMT nightmare.)

The only other email verification method I've seen like this is optional... which I have disabled so...
