    Either take away the healing powers from tanks or give healers tanking powers.

    This is getting absurd. Certain youtube influencers are talking about tanking changes and one keeps talking about wanting to give dark knights excognition. Enough is enough. Start giving healers the tools to tank then ourselves if you are in the mood to give our jobs to the tank while letting the tanks continue to be tanks. I grow wearing of my powers being so easily being divy out to everyone else..

    No thanks, somehow the solutions to healing have become very focused about improving damage capabilities and (in your case) giving us tank abilities.

    Will it give us engagement? Sure. Will it make us less bored? Yeah, it will. But what it wont do is fix how mind-numbing easy and oGCD-based healing is right now, it wont fix the core reason why healing is so boring — because healing is too easy. The developers should review how to make healing more difficult and less oGCD based (in my opinion) and bring engagement from the role. They should be able to do DPS, yes — but their healing also needs to be relevant first.

    The experienced debaters will say "but square told us to do ultimates for harder healing", sure — but it wont stop me complaining about the fact that healing is still the issue. I wont jump ship just because square said something silly and have ignored you up until now.

    I do agree that removing some sustain capabilities would further help make healing more difficult but people do not like nerfs, so it'll be a hard pill to swallow for tanks to lose sustain. The same way that in my suggestion, it'll be a hard pill for a lot of healers to lose oGCD's and have to do more GCD's.

    Tank healing needs to be reduced. It's one of the biggest issues in the game right now since it negates an entire role in many cases.

    I don't have much of a problem with OGCD's. Stopping to cast GCD heals won't change much in my opinion and given the nature of FF14 I think OGCD's can be engaging. As long as healers have a purpose and depth, that's enough.

    I completely agree, but frankly if they ever did nerf tank (Warrior) self-healing the forums would just get flooded with people screaming and crying. ‘Why do you hate tanks SE’, ‘WAR so weak now’ ‘you made war too hard’ etc

    As a DPS main, I've gotta be honest, I've never really understood the healer strike. Until I decided to level WAR. I completely get it now. During MSQ dungeons, playing as WAR makes me not at all appreciate the healers. Why do I need healing if I have the equivalent of WHM's Benediction every 25s? Literally while running dungeons, the only thing that the Healers do is keeping the DPSes alive, and I'm willing to bet I can do that as WAR, too, if I just manage my CDs well. Feels like going through dungeons will be significantly faster if instead of a healer, the team had a RDM or SMN, just in case someone does fall. You guys do desperately need some DPS combos, because as it is, big yikes.

    A little bit of tangent: to be fair, WAR's self sustenance & boring fillers are only few from many issues the healer roles have. The strike is just a collective effort to get the dev to notice AND not ignore the issues like they've done since for... like what, 5 to 8 years depending on where you draw the line.

    Now that’s unfair and dismissive

    It’s not WHM benediction on a 25 second CD, it’s FOUR WHM benedictions on a 25 second CD

    As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

    I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    WAR absolutely can heal the rest of the party too, I once challenged my WAR friend to a no heals run and took it a little more seriously than either of us intended and they did indeed heal the party for me. Pretty much beyond Nascent Flash and Shake it Off, there is no reason for healers to exist.

    As a tank main, the tank healing is a problem. Everyone wants a fix for DRK that allows an excog after TBN breaks. This is a good idea if the tanks need to be this way, but the tanks shouldn't be this way.
    Tanks shouldn't have more excogs per minute than SCH.
    DRK is closer to how I think tanks should be than the other three. Mits and shields with minimal self healing.
