It's easy to dunk against SE, especially given how unhappy people are regarding Dawntrail. However, DDoS attacks are fairly common. It's to be expected with a game this large and popular to be targeted often. There's also no way to completely stop these attacks. The most they can do is reduce the impact.I don´t care who is doing that. Fact is the protection for this Servers is bad period. You can tell me that this is normal its 4 months now...
But once again nothing will change be cause enough people will defend everything in this game even 4 months DDoS issues. This game starts finally starts to look like an indie game.
Wait no forget this Indie devs try to listen too the customers and fix their stuff.
DDoS only happened twice in Shadowbringers so ... ?It's easy to dunk against SE, especially given how unhappy people are regarding Dawntrail. However, DDoS attacks are fairly common. as someone whos working in the IT i know the one thing or the other about DDoS so yes its not just Ez to dunk against SE its ez to say that is is not normal. tell me another game this big which struggels since 4 months to get rid of them. i waitIt's easy to dunk against SE, especially given how unhappy people are regarding Dawntrail. that changes nothing with what I've said
as someone in IT, then you would know how common the attacks can be and that there is very little that can be done to prevent them, only mitigate
regarding other games, I wouldn't know, FFXIV is the only MMO I've played in recent years outside of the handful of times I pop into GW2 to do WvW
otherwise I play singleplayer RPGs
I wouldn't have that knowledge nor do I have the interest in arguing about the subject
It isn't surprising that a big game gets DDoS'd
I wish we were allowed to play a AAA MMO. People were told to quit WoW to come here, and yet this game keeps getting DDoSed along with all the other issues (lack of content, bad story, etc). It’s like all the gimmicks you used to get people to quit WoW were just lies. I’m used to this treatment since I’m not from WoW, but now I’m a bit jealous from what they have. We’re not allowed to have stable servers, we can’t have content, we can’t even have basic anti-cheat for PvP. Why are we forced to accept less just because we play FFXIV? Isn’t Square Enix also a AAA company?
Speak for YOURSELF. Most people ARE having fun in FF14 even with the DDoS. It's an AAA game in every way.I wish we were allowed to play a AAA MMO. Right, that's cool. But why are we not allowed to have all the nice features that other games have? Why are we forced to accept your standard as the ideal, when no other mainstream MMO has to deal with this? Why are you the adjudicator of quality instead of what the players at large want (see the rest of this forum, Steam reviews, 5ch, mainstream reviews, blogs, vlogs, etc.)?
It's actually becoming so pathetic now, usually they post a "recovery" update in 24 hours but it looks like they literally cannot even recover from a DDoS now. LOL
