Meteion didn't just try to wipe out all life, but actually did wipe out multiple planets, some by mistake, some intentionally.
That being said, she didn't become this harbinger of oblivion of her own will, but was overwhelmed by the despair of dozens, if not hundreds of dead civilizations, because Hermis designed her to soak in emotions around her, which left her without any defense against this onslaught, so I find it hard to really blame her for it. And what brought this one Meteion back from that, was our positive emotions, which just goes to show how vulnerable she is to external influences.
Also... how much fault did this single little bird really have, in a collective of hundreds of sister?
Speaking of them, they all died. So in a way Meteion did get executed a whole lot of times for her crimes already, with just one little bit of her remaining alive.

I'd support Meteion's return if she brought some lore that added to her backstory and how she impacted the MSQ with her. Dropping her in at the end of a decade's worth of expansions as the explanation for the majority of the story still rings painfully hollow...
