Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble launching the game due to this script error. It seems that the game launcher is having trouble loading up properly. I would recommend trying out the following troubleshooting to see if it may help with this issue that you are currently experiencing:
1. Open the Control Panel, and go to ‘Network and Internet’. Once there select ‘Internet Options’
- Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
- Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
- Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
- Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
- Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
- Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
- Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
- Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
- Please RESTART your PC after. Once restarted, try running the game as an administrator.
2. Please disable any programs and overlays that may be running in the background of the PC, including anti-virus programs.
3. Perform a clean boot by opening your Task Manager, and selecting the Start Up tab. Once there, disable everything listed, and restart the PC. This will help minimize the chance of another program interfering with the client.
4. Lastly, if the following troubleshooting above does not resolve, it may help to try a clean uninstall and reinstall of the game. In general we recommend installing the game and any programs necessary to run the game (such as Steam) on the default C: drive, if you have multiple drives you may try a different one should the issue persist.
I hope this helps! Thanks for posting in the FINAL FANTASY XIV Technical Support Forums.
