A letter to the writers of DT

I had finally gotten to finish Dawntrail, and I know that it had gotten a polarizing reponse from the community at large, but on a personal level, I do want to thank the writing team, for their timing on this story couldn't be more fitting.

I and my group of friends in the game had lost someone very dear to us to cancer back in May, just over a month before the expansion had come out. He was a wonderful person, a great leader, and a good friend. We had all built a deep familial bond going through this game, and we were all so excited to experience this new expansion together.

He was a very strong person, so his sudden passing came as a shock to us, and it was extremely difficult to imagine what it will be like without him. That said, we knew the kind of person he was, and that he'd kick each and every one of our asses if we didn't play the new expansion for him when it came out.

It was still difficult to start the game and continue the story, but we pushed through. We wanted to see what was next for our journey, and this story could not have spoken to us more. The overarching theme of death and remembrance of the people we love and cherish through life touched all of us on a deep, personal level. We felt the story speak to us in a way we felt we needed. It almost felt like our friend was there with us, telling us things will be okay, and to celebrate the times we all shared... To know that he lives on in our memories.

On behalf of all of my friends, I want to thank the writers for bringing such a beautiful theme into this story. It touched us deeply when we needed it most, and for that, it will hold a special place in our hearts.
