    An idea to help with the healer problem

    There is a sever lack of people playing healers, espeacialy when you set the ilvl on your party higher it can take hours to find someone, i just a a simple idea to help with this problem.

    Make healing gear a lot cheaper to buy from raid tomes,
    Accessoires 1 instead if 3
    Armor 2 instead of 4
    Weapon 3 instead of 8

    I think this would have the opposite effect. How healer mains like myself feel right now is that we are less than. If healer gear costs less than tank or DPS gear than that just entrenches the idea that healers are less than. Discount gear for discount jobs.
    That doesn't help any of the healer problems. It might make them worse becasue it's entrenching the biggest problem rather than trying to fix it.

    Not to mention healers that are still gearing up will leave the PF pull earlier, leading to a higher drought

    People already have the view that healing roles are lesser value than Damage or Tanks, see it as an Adventurer in need bonus for roles that aren't played as much, just like in dungeon roulettes.

    Maybe I'll play healer again if the change the way the role plays. As it stands its just boring to me with too much focus on dps and not enough on healing.

    I understand lots of people like the way healing is now and i am not calling for change, just stating why I personally don't play healer. ^^

    sorry, maybe its early, but I fail to see how cheap gear will make the role fun and engaging.

    basically I could wear out my #1 button for ....cheaper gear costs?

    honey... I am a crafter, I can already get decent gear for virtually free. doesnt mean it magically makes me cast Glare less....

    Or you know they can let healers HEAL!! That is the reason most of us don't wanna play healer, we don't get to do the job of the role we select. I mainly play WoW now, I get to heal 60+% of the time in a fight and I am having a blast! sometimes as much as 80% of the time depending on what is being run. There is no shortage of healers because we get to have fun doing the role that we enjoy, which is healing and supporting. Only reason I touch this game at all anymore is because of that fact my wife plays this game. SE ruined the balance so badly that it will take quite a job to fix. Do you know how they can fix it? Reduce mits and sustain, buff tank health, make mob damage be sustained and high, still have some burst damage but spread it out. Healer problem solved, it will make it so tanks take damage but not be straining on the healer. It isn't hard to figure out.

    You don't think there is enough to heal in savage as it is now?

    I am more talking normal content before that stage, most would be healers drop healing around late stormblood as the healing needed drops off a cliff. That is the problem with healing. They made would be healers quit healing by taking away the job.

    I dont think gearing up as healer is a problem. Crafted gear->done. Rest comes naturally. But yeah...as people said above. Healing just isnt fun when you dont have anything to heal and cant do your job you are signed up. Im nowhere a pro and only did about 30 Valigamanda runs this Expansion, some Experts and thats mostly it. Of course i cant speak from Savage Raid Experience, because i lack the time and ambition to sit 2-3 hours a evening before some bosses to perfect it (coming from wow,where i did some mythic raiding. 3 hours for 4 days a week just burned me out from doing "hardcore" stuff).
    But yeah...normal content doesnt need healing much...spam the occasional OcD heal and else just your 2 button dps "rotation" isnt compelling.
