    You must have misunderstood me or don't understand..

    DD is very gear dependent, you aren't going to be putting out those insane numbers with bad gear choices. DPS on your weapon is important for weaponskill power and determines your stat caps, gear allows your damage capabilities to increase and reach those stat caps.

    To put it simply,
    You won't go very far with great gear and no skill
    You won't go very far with bad gear and tons of skill.

    That is why I said both gearing right and knowing what they are doing.

    yeah i understand, but this aint other mmo's gear does not = greatness. this aint your wow or other super multiplied stat game where you gear determines the win.
    dont know what game you been playing but the dps is on the weapons and your damage changes very little no matter what you have in your slots. noobs = fail no matter what you can have every great piece of equip. a skilled person knows what there doing and will win.

    You'll want both! Endgame wise, BLM will have more uses. But, a lot of things people stack MNK as well. It's always nice to be flexible and change when it's best needed for the party.

    Fun wise, I prefer monk.

    This is very wrong for endgame content.

    I don't see anything wrong in that. Yes, people need gear to do a good job, but good gear not always mean good player. I have a guy in my linkshell who BUY hamlet runs to solo-lot seals, and he plan to pay even for garuda and ifrit extreme. Sure he'll have a relic, but how possibly is that a good player, if he don't even play content ?

    maybe he makes gil easily, and prefers to play solo instead of playing in a linkshell

    He made tons of gil at beginning of game, where crafting was busted and you gained gil doing nothing. But the problem isn't the gils, he pay to have all immediatly without any personal effort. Since he's a poor player (i've played with him some times, and he did shit) a buyed relic not gonna change the fact he play poorly

    Who cares? It's his game, his time, his gil, and his monthly payment. What the fuck does it matter what kind of pixels someone else has? lol

    Here's an example, making up the numbers for the sake of the examples
    Without gearing properly a dragon that knows what he is doing can hit a maximum of 2,000 damage and throughout the fight deal a total of 90,000 damage.

    If that same dragoon geared up properly and tried to at least hit his stat caps for str and piety then could do a maximum of 3200 damage in a hit 144,000 damage in the same fight. This is just basic to get you an idea.

    The weapons and equipment you choose make a difference by giving the potential for much higher numbers, you can only go so far with skill on DD classes.
    If you don't know wtf you are doing then it doesn't matter lol.. of course skill is important, as that's already been said. It is pretty ignorant to say all that matters is armor around your level and ps doesn't do anything for you. ;_;
