The death of savage raiding and SE's lack of action

Anyone's who's been savage raiding recently has definitely become familiar with the sight: Over a dozen parties filled with 0 healer's in sight. Spending your night sitting idle for 3 hours and only actually raiding for 2. Is this the premium experience you wanted us to enjoy this expansion YoshiP? Is this what's going to keep people paying your company's light bill (and pay them to develop terrible games that bomb on release)?

This isn't something that the players are doing wrong, it's something that SquareEnix and CBU3 have done wrong. They've repeatedly failed to address complaints from the playerbase over a significant period of time and now there is such a healer scarcity that people are outright quitting savage or planning to quit after this tier.

There's plenty of ways to incentivize healers to play high level content. Even something as simple as special mounts, minions, and achievements to bring out the achievement and mount hunters. SE has done nothing, and now this is the result. ig it's my fault for not enjoying the gameplay of healer either. Mea culpa Mr YoshiP sir I'll make sure I look forward to it harder.

Im afraid that the healer problem is not YoshiPs problem, if you want a healer play it yourself its not very hard. i am always in pf in Eu and have no issue finding healers. i dont know if this thread was an attempt to make another healerstrike thread since the last 1 is stale

You're gonna wanna sort to "duty complete, weekly reward unclaimed" and try again, taking into account that 10pm EST at night is not indicative of the health of the pf healer population and that what we're looking for is trending patterns over the course of the entire evening, then over the course of the week, and finally over the course of the expansion to unearth role shortages, not just a single datapoint that serves as a confirmation bias to your viewpoint.

if this information was accurate then ud do well to compile a spreadsheet clearly showing this data over a course of weeks and months, you wont accept our anecdotal "i say its like this cause i looked and i saw this" evidence but were supposed to accept you anecdotal "try checking back under duty complete bro its there i promise you" evidence

Healer main, would LOVE to do savage raiding but no one actually cares to teach people who have never done it before. That content is extremely gatekept from a lot of players.

There are plenty of statics that accept complete newbies. The static I'm in has multiple people who have never raided before and they are doing just fine. It's way worse in PF, you basically have to wait until the tier is fairly old and then you get bored vets willing to hop in and help you prog for fun.

This may sound strange to some but how about we change the design of fights to get rid of the hard enrage and have a soft one. As time progresses, healing gets harder and harder until the healers are overwhelmed and the raid wipes.

I would love this. The traditional markers of being a good healer - conserving MP, avoiding overhealing, triage and using tools at the right time - would actually make a real difference to the whole group and give them more time to beat the boss. Your worth as a healer would be in the number of minutes you can extend the fight and not just in how many glares you cast.

I always wonder where this information is coming from that players are quitting or planning to quit because you can't pug some parties on some nights. I've PFed from Edenverse to Arcadeon and it's always been an issue especially the shield healer spot.

If tanks and healers are fun that might intimidate new tank/healers who want to practically afk and still win so it’s actually very good that nobody's playing them. If they did there might be a skill variation between them and we absolutely can’t have that can we? (partial sarcasm).

Honestly given the absolute silence on the issues for literal years, I can only conclude the devs literally do not give a shit whether people play tanks or healers. They’re probably like, ‘as long as players are subbing who cares what role they’re on?’ It’s not like doing savage or not affects whether they get subs, if they’ve pulled you in to play the game (and buying a sub) they don’t really give a shit if the game is un-enjoyable after that, since it’s not like you can cancel a sub after you’ve paid for it; they have what they wanted from you.

I just stopped healing. It's not really that engaging for me and I'd bluntly prefer a job that has more agency and impact on a fight.

This week I flexed SCH and we recleared in two pulls. I was already bored by the end of the fight. Without something, anything to make healing more involved and engaging I just don't really want to do it anymore.
