Based, this is what I do and what everyone else should do too. Just stop playing the game, people. It's that simple. Just log out. Just give up.
LOL
some people are unfortunately so lost in the maze they take any criticism of the game as a personal attack against themselves because they feel if the game is criticized it means their many hours in the game were worth nothing.
I agree. And they obviously don't care about the problem on their new jobs either. Reaper was miserable til 80, and only felt good at 90. And now they've done the same with Viper. It's a massive snoozefest until 90. I got a level 80 normal raid and was shocked at how bare bones it still was at that level. All the arguments against keeping skills when synced can be rebutted by "but fun". I do think they'd have to go with the "high effort" solution of scaling potencies via traits. You should feel more powerful synced from a high level than someone at that level. That's what leveling is for. But obviously the super inflated potencies on high level skills would make early content even more of a meme than it already is.
I purposefully queue for leveling dungeons instead of roulettes sometimes just so I can enjoy the job at level. If you level strictly with roulettes, there's a possibility you never even interact with your post-50 skills. I think the feeling of progression is hugely important in an MMO, and they miss the mark in so many ways.
You mean roulettes are the most braindead source to get them (unless you actually get placed in DT content). If you compare the one time daily bonus for each roulette against direct queueing for level 100 content and the time spent on each, you'll come out roughly even or even way behind doing roulettes (unless you're stuck with a party that keeps wiping on His Royal Headness). You are having a laugh right?
The game revolves around a vertical progression system, where tomestones > gear > raiding. Roulettes are the primary source of tomestone, as well as XP, currency, and all sorts of things. It's literally the most common form of completed content in the game and your answer to a legitimate issue is 'well just don't play that part because someone else will ensure I still get a queue'? It's a funny joke for sure, but I'm not convinced you are joking.
Players aren't doing the roulettes as a better source of tomestones. Hunt trains outstrip every other form of content when it comes to tomestones for time spent. They're doing the roulettes because they don't have to pay much attention to what they're doing.
It helps to remember that this game is mostly designed around story mode. When you're running Praetorium for the 123rd time, that's not you going back in as level 100 WoL. After all, the Praetorium is just one big huge crater in the ground by that point.
That's you remembering via your echo what it was like doing Praetorium that first time, when you were only 50 and had a more limited range of skills available. If you find it annoying to be level 50 again instead of level 100, then you should be doing level 100 content as others suggest.
At least the revamp for Praetorium demonstrated the value of using a more appropriate ilvl sync for content. I wish SE would apply it toward all 50-60-70-80-90 content instead of just the X.0 MSQ duties. It would at least make Crystal Tower more interesting even if it wouldn't stop the complaints about always getting it.
Those early duties weren't designed around all classes having AoEs and trash HP is so low it still dies quickly even with single target.
I don't see how #3 can be managed for defensive/healing skills. I sure don't want to have nigh invincible tanks or the overbloated healing kits healers have in an ARR dungeon, at least.
Also I don't want to be permanently stuck with light mage WHM.
I knew I forgot a bullet in follow-up concerns. Yes, you're correct that this is another huge consideration, one that makes me feel that #2 would be a better (but also high effort) solution.

World of Warcraft, the world's most popular MMO with over 7x the active player base as FFXIV, managed to get this right. Everyone is synced up and the same leveling content is playable regardless of your level. Perhaps that's why so many people still play that game over ours. It's odd that a 20-year old game has managed to fix this and Square Enix is incapable of doing so. Sad!
