    Question Live Letter on September 28th is a first look at 7.1....Part 1?!

    Curiously, in the announcement for the live letter, they said it would be the first details of patch 7.1 Part 1. Are they meaning part 1 of the details, or are they now going to start time-gating and dragging out the post-expansion patches by splitting them into parts?

    They do this in two parts so as to go over story elements and such in the first part, while for the second part they include Job Changes - meaning we're getting a patch in October.

    This isn't the first time they've done this. At times when they want players to take their time and enjoy something but feel there is something in the patch that would pressure them to rush, they'll divide it up. A good example is the normal 8 man raids becoming available before the savage modes.

    We know they are tinkering with 24 man savage modes so it could be a similar release schedule. Alternatively, it could be the ultimate fight being released after the main part of the patch goes live so people can do MSQ at a relaxed pace before the race to world first starts. It could be another type of content altogether.

    Hmm it means the same thing it has meant since ARR, two live letters discussing all features of 7.1

    From what I recall, we have two live letters before each major patch. This will be the first, the other will be the second with more detail.

    Major patches have always been split into parts, dragging out the content between them. For example:
    7.1
    7.11
    7.15
    7.18

    They mean it's the first Live Letter for 7.1. They always do a part 1 and part 2 and talk about different things in them. Some patches are split but they do this with the Live Letters all the time no matter if the patch is split or not.

    IIRC the first one comes out then the second one comes 2 weeks before the patch release date... So by that I think we may expect 7.1 late October?

    Someone correct if I'm wrong!
