444 hours to change my chocobo color to black?

From what I've read, you have to wait 6 hours for a feeding to take effect, and according to ffxivchocobo.com, I have to do 74 feedings, at 6 hours each is 444 hours, or over 18 days.

Or, can I just feed it all the items in one shot, then wait 6 hours for all the changes to take effect?

You can feed them all at once, the change of colour will basically 'lock in' after the few hours provided the feeding conditions for the colour you want is met.

you can feed them all (in the right order) then wait 6 hours.

Note that we don't know exactly what formula SE uses for chocobo coloring and black chocobos (and white) are known to be the most difficult to get. There seem to be some kind rng (or some subtility of the algorithm we don't have access to), and despite following the order to the point, there is a possibility you'll get another color than the desired one (there are also people that pretend the calculator are flawless and 10 years of difficulty to black or white chocobo reports are just people making errors, sometimes several trial in a row... But to that scale for that long, with mostly black and white, that sometimes need 4 or 5 trial before getting the right color, I feel that explanation is bullshit).

In past I saw people advice to rather use this calculator instead of the most used one for black and white, but I have can only report what I have read. But I like the fact that alternative one gives you it's algorithm rather than preteding it a you'll get what you want if you follow each steps.
