“Firstly, I do understand that when we look at all the feedback that we get, it’s really difficult to discern what is specifically the feedback about the story and then feedback where people are just criticizing the character in relation to values and such – it‘s really difficult,” Yoshida tells JPGames in an interview.

“But I would very much like to request something: I would really like to ask that people do not direct personal attacks to the voice actors involved in the development and also individual members of the localization team, because they are really doing their best to create something which is great for the creative process.

“It is really not that they are trying to bring forward an argument about a certain movement or anything like that. It’s just that they are doing their best for the development so I would really like to ask that the players do not direct personal attacks against them.”

Fully agree with the rest however, personal attacks are not OK. Critiquing the story, gameplay, graphics updates etc. is fair and honestly helpful if we want things to get better. Just be kind and don't direct hate/threats etc. towards anyone personally is what he's saying. Shouldn't really even have had to be said.

I strongly suspect a large portion of the motivation is much more to do with said VA putting out more than a few inflammatory statements over Twitter than it is to do with anything else. When you sling poop, don't act surprised and cry about it when you get it thrown back at you in response.

I'm pretty certain that if they maintained a professional presence on social media they wouldn't have this problem to begin with.

There is definitely an element that predates her VA being controversial on twitter. Graha’s VA is gay and that never comes up in conversation (hell almost anyone with a male WOL thinks graha is gay). But wuk lamat’s VA was almost immediately attacked for being trans when she was revealed (this goes as far back as people not liking her performance in 6.55 for whatever reasons). This has only gotten worse with the problems of DT’s writing around wuk which with a few exceptions (SPHEEEEEEENE) aren’t really the VA’s fault, yet she cops the brunt of the criticism for both wuk’s controversial story design and then random people come in and sling some transphobia

No consequences of anything so it looks about right, she's been doing it since she's been named as the actress of Wuk Lamat, and still continues to this day.

She keeps spouting nonsense about "cis" people and white men, and gets the same back at her, sounds about right to me.
