    Resolution Changes

    Hi there!
I play the game windowed in 1680 x 1050 or roughly here about. My monitor is technically double but having it at it's correct resolution causes FPS drops and other problems. I tested but did not apply Full Screen mode earlier today but after only being able to see 1/4 of the screen, I reverted without saving the changes. I continued my play session at the correct resolution and display.

After restarting my display has completely changed to be as it would display if in full screen mode. As a result the HUD is so small I can scarcely see what I'm doing, my FPS hangs at around 10 from 60 and my chat box is so small I cannot see what I type. I have increased the size of the HUD and font but this has not affected character text boxes so I can no longer read quest text nor has it solved the issue of my FPS.

I have attempted to set the correct display in full screen mode as has been suggested in other threads but this does not carry over to windowed mode. Windowed mode no longer scales the HUD but scales the rest of the world correctly. I am fairly desperate to find a solution to this as in its current state, this is entirely unplayable.

Thank you for any help you may have.

Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

With regards to your concern, the issues you are describing would be more suited for general gameplay hints & tips. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any official support for such concerns and advise that you check various resources such as web sites, video guides and asking fellow players within the game and forums here to see if they may have information to share.

In general we may suggest double checking your configurations to make sure that both your system and the game are defaulting to the correct and desired monitor. Should the issue persist, please try these additional general troubleshooting tips:
    - If you have not already, please try limiting the FPS in-game.
    - Try switching between fullscreen and borderless windowed mode.
    - Run the game as an administrator, if you use Steam you may either run Steam itself or the game itself as an admin.

Please note, fullscreen mode will try to use the resolution set by your system. If you feel this is a bug, you are welcome to submit a bug report in the appropriate forum section.

Thank you once more for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums!
