Do you think they'll ever make goblins a playable race?

Basically just what the title says. I just really would love to play as a goblin.

I don't think so, given that they all have the one distinct model and would take a lot of work for them to implement into a playable race but it would be interesting to see more 'beast' like races in the game

I'd like them to expand on the character creator in the future where after fixing issues to current races they look toward adding more. With the distinction between Hyur midlander and highlander, they could add something like that to other body types like goblin for lalafell, for instance

I've seen burmecian and ivalician moogle thrown around, so they'd be neat too

I think they won't see it as popular enough. They also were saying when they added Hrothgar and Viera that they'd be the last ones, but then they were pressured to make female and male versions respectively. Since then, they admitted they might get pressured to make more in the same way. But it increases the development time/burden because they have to adjust gear for each race.

I would like if they would look at all these beast tribes and add them but most likely they would have different skeletons to work the animations and gear around. However, it's good that they costumes for them at least and perhaps they could try to find ways to glamour those a bit more.

I believe they prefer the smell of their own farts, and body odor than clean air.

They're taken directly from the design of the goblins in FFXI and, there was a really old piece of FFXI concept design art for them that showed them without their masks - they look.. rather monsterous like an imp or shrunken down ork.

How canon that is though is a very good question (and probably not relevant to FFXIV's goblins), but lacking anything else it's the best we can go with for this.

Only if they're given the same problem as Hrothgar and Viera and can't wear hats, but not because SE is too lazy to make them work but because they cannot take their masks off.
