Dark Knight is the best designed job in Frontlines

Oh god we have a video of an all scholar team in a Frontline queue sync. Saw some poor Astro get 12 biolysis ticks on them at one point. Like what do you even DO at that point lol

But I say best designed because everyone can work with Dark Knight. It defends teammates, creates opportunities for them, yada yada. Scholar does that in a more passive manner, so your teammates have to really pay attention to take advantage of Expediant/Bio.

That honestly might be the best team comp: party A is all Dark Knights, B is all Scholars, and C is Ninjas

These one-job Q-synchs illustrate even the Discord gatekeepers don't take the mode seriously.

Playing tank/melee, you basically have to have the mindset of hit big and run away, over and over again. Some classes can stand their ground and tank (Gunbreaker with Nebula, Dragoon with Horrid Roar, etc.) but yeah you really do need team support in order to stay in the fight and soak damage.

If they remove Salted Earth that's what will need to happen: premade parties will be one to two melees with a healer, maybe a Bard for the damage reduction & healing of Paean, that lead the charge instead of saying "burst now." Which honestly sounds fun to try now tbh!

Bard doesnt offer any damage reduction... Did you mean DNC? SCH?

If you use Bard's Paean to cleanse CC, it grants that person 25% extra healing and 25% damage reduction. Legit the best defensive cooldown in the game, at least in CC.

This also stacks with other Bard's Paean on the same target as well when used in succession. I don't know if they've ever fixed this which is why I'm uncertain. But it definitely did stack in the patches closer to release in FL.

I got matched with SCH premades the other day when I hopped over to Aether to solo queue on an alt. It's not impossible to win. In fact, one of my games won with a surprising landslide because everyone was shoring up for the other's weaknesses. All that was communicated in party chat was node spawns, nothing else.

If anyone has any ideas to remove salted earth yet still maintain a good balance of roles (tanks, melee, ranged), and at the same time not ruining Crystalline Conflict, I’m all ears. And don’t say that everybody won’t play ranged because we’ve seen it happen many times before, prior to EW PvP. The only ones playing melee or tanks were premades that had pocket healers. The other players playing melee or tanks usually ended up feeding.

Kinda makes me want custom 24v24v24 Frontlines. We've got teams that practice 5v5 CC, there HAS to be an audience for custom Frontlines. Maybe some sort of Aether vs. Primal vs. Crystal shenanigans lol
