I'd love to see BST make an appearance in this game. I think it won't though because it'd be way too OP, at least if they handled it similarly to the past. There are far too many mobs that would fall into the "tamable" category and are higher than your lvl, readily available in each area. You'd see everyone pumping up whichever stat increases charm success and duration and then destroying everything with lvl 55+ monsters at their side. Cool, but unfair.
all I want is a dodo mount with a spammable squawk button. c'mon SE $15 a month should be more than enough
Okay. How about, and stick with me here, a nature master/user/lover. And no, not like, elements. I mean the real deal.
Follow me on this...
So you'd start off with a little pet bush or something. It has some thorns or whatever. It's not very cool.
However! As you progress you get even crazier things; Like some vines that whip and slash. Maybe some poison leafy plants with big ass prickers and that poison the enemy. AOE, vines everywhere. Pure mayhem.
"but what about desolate places and caves and dungeons?" you might ask. simple. Fungi! Oh yea.
"Okay, deserts?" CACTUS... and other succulents. How brutal would that be. (think like cactuar).
(Gotta stay in the realm of what's believable) (ha)
Now by the time you get to max rank you would just have this giant red wood tree thing that just explodes out of nowhere and collapses on the guy. Total annihilation. And maybe treants. How magical.
You could even fashion these neat, little wooden traps and weapons. Nice.
Don't rip me apart here. I was just reading this thread and looked out the window and was like OH SHIT.
P.s The plants would be the pets being asked for. Idk
FFXIV: Going Green.![]()
It wouldn't happen until after 2.0 and the zones are being redesigned as is. Beastmaster would allow Culinarians more items to craft and sell if they used Jug Pets. With the way jobs are right now (very limited) if a Pet job's DD is better than or less than a Monk/Dragoon/BLM then obviously they're getting chose or forgotten. Summoner could be a job that gets us away from the 2 WHMs per party and having 1 WHM, 1 Summoner if its a nice balance of Support and DD, using their summons to both Buff the party and Debuff/Damage the mobs. For Beastmaster I'd love for it to be a solo job but with the ability to help out in parties. Some boss battles would allow BSTs to take adds and toss them at the bosses, while other battles require the BST to use their own 'summoned' pets.I'd love to see BST make an appearance in this game. Wyvern pet for Dragoon class... <Please> <Can I have it>
Seen some awesome ideas on this thread and the more I read the posts, the more I realized how much I actually missed my Wyvern pet on FFXI (his name was Azure). It was also kinda cool in those days to have Fenrir running beside you while having Summoner activated (even as a subjob).
Yeah... Wyvern for me... that'll be spiffy.
"After ten years, finally headed to Sharlayan... absolutely stoked"
Only those that have existed in more than one FF title in my opinion... Summoner or Beastmaster pretty much. Puppermaster as an abomination to me, and should have never existed in XI considering it was a class that never existed.
In regards to the other classes you mentioned... I'll quit, uninstall FFXIV and cancel my internet connection if they ever add jobs from WoW.
Traditional is the way to go, never fix what isn't broken.

That's inadmissible. All the connections that they try to make to the puppetmaster job class are ambiguous at best, and to try to call lulu a puppetmester? She was a self proclaimed blackmage he job was clear... The thing about Cait Sith was just stupid, and the thing about Final Fantasy IV: The After Years? Well that game came out long after Treasures of Aht Urhgan, and regardless of that her dolls in the game are presented as playable characters anyway. I would really love to see a revival of Puppet master. I realize that Bst and Smn are far more likely to happen.
But still I retain a soft spot in my black heart for the malfunctioning bucket of bolts that were the automatons. If I were forced to point out one thing that miss above all others from xi, it would be my automaton charlie.
