ok what FF has had Arcanist that is a summoner? cause the class if it gets one would be called Evoker. where did this arcanist crap come from? EQOA arcanist was a job which is a cross to best discribe it an alchemly/blackmage. Could make potion that it could throw that could enfeeble, or dot while it being able to cast spells at the same time.
I always hoped that Arcanist would be more of a strategic Job where you would set traps on the ground to provide enfeebling effects.ok what FF has had Arcanist that is a summoner? cause the class if it gets one would be called Evoker. where did this arcanist crap come from? the only problem with this is that one way or the other Blm or Smn will be screwed. Cause if you make the Summoner a more of a casting mage than a pet job mage. Smn is going to get pretty much the elmental wheel of smn now if they cast they are now better for every situation of magic where as Blm is only good if mobs is weak to fire or lightning, im not gonna bother adding ice to that list. Youve now defeated BLM. But suppose they still make them casters just weaker than Blm, same thing now why choose a smn over a Blm? If its a pet job thats casting is far weaker than blm the pets still have their use of melee dmg so its still not overpowered or that much weaker than Blm. But i also look at it that Smn might be screw if its a pet job cause of aoe. If they get him by them theyll most likely be one shotted since most melee do, and Smn might run out of mp fast if it cost alot of mp to summon and not counting a perpetual cost either. Sure some people will say that they might not take as much dmg as a melee or might not take dmg at all. Now for any fight like garuda ifrit or Chimera, why would you ever choose a melee over smn since smns pet wont take dmg.Whether calling your pet via casting spells or using jugs, the results were largely the same.
They both would walk around with a pet that they would sic on an enemy. The difference is that both SMNs and their pets died quicker, but had some better moves.
I'd like to see SMN be more of a caster overall in this game -- Perhaps only allow the Avatars stay out for 30 sec max with a decent cool-down timer. Then the SMN must pull off a series of moves in order to create a combo that leads to an uber-attack.

I play WHM, I would prefer Banish back than Stone and Aero. The BLM can keep the Elemental Wheel!

I would personally like to see Summoner utilized in places where distance fighting is a must. Cutter's Cry on Chimera, Aurum Vale on Cyclopse. I would like them to be more like Monk in the way that their summons have an elemental base like the Monks have elemental fists but only to enhance the attack like an En-Thunder. I would also like to see them receive different types of Summons:
Damage
Physical and Magical
Other
Tanking and Healing.
All things within reason, not the end all to tanking but the ability to take a few hits. Not the end all to healing but attempts to heal party members at 30% HP.
Example: A Bard notices one of his companions are down, he decides to get off a Cure, he heals for enough to help his comrade live! Hurray!
The Summon could have the same potential. Weaker than an actual player but useful enough to be a strategic influence.

but isnt that just geomancer then? from tactics?
http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/G...antasy_Tactics)
The Geomancer (風水士, Fūsuishi?) is a Job class from Final Fantasy Tactics. It is also known as Elemental User in the Japanese promotional materials. A balanced Job in the physical classes, similar to Samurai, but more defensive. The Geomancer has the Job command Geomancy to bend the earth itself to attack and inflicts an ailment to the targets within a certain range. It costs 2,870 JP to master this Job.
That was not what I was going for >.>;

What Pet Classes Would You Like To See? None
However, what I would like and what is actually going to happen are 2 different things. That being said, I'm seriously against pet jobs in any mmo. Maybe SE can manage not to make them "LOLBST" orSMNWHM or ridiculously OP, but I very greatly doubt it.![]()
