So I decided to start the game and just wait. After about 30 minutes, the game finally started. I just hope it doesn't take that long everytime I start it from now on. Thanks for the help!

Well, i played for about 5 minutes before the game crashed my PC, and now when I start the game my GPU caps and the game runs like crap.

Make a new log while playing.
Cheers
since patch I cant log in, it sits on a black screen while loading with the little working curser spinning round and round. If i click the mouse it just crashes to dektop.
UPDATE
Updated my graphics driver seems to have done the trick

I had this happen with this update and the last one prior.
After the launcher finishes updating (Steam version) and you click "Play" (Green button), the screen / window pops up black with nothing but a small blue rotating cursor (windows loading cursor).
If you attempt to click mouse buttons, move the cursor, press any keyboard keys, the game window crashes or locks up the PC completely.
If you do nothing while the blue rotating cursor is spinning, for a few moments to 30+ minutes, the game usually loads up (Square Enix screen the title shows up) and you can continue as normal (character select screen will load slower than usual and have the "Now Loading" icon spinning at the bottom-right of the screen for a few moments).
Once you have logged in and played the game, it usually doesn't happen again, until another client update, it seems to do it once after an update, for anyway and a few others (internet search of issue).
Interestingly, launching the "FFXIVBOOT.EXE" from within the "\Steam\steamapps\common\Final Fantasy XIV Online\boot\" folder and logging in with a Windows PC Square Enix Account and updating then launching the game (Non-Steam version of the game) does not seem to get this issue, it starts as it should with no delay. (I tested this myself with my Steam and Non-steam accounts on two different PC's)
