    New phys ranged job guesses and wishes

    Question 1: What weapon type and/or job would you want?
    Question 2: What weapon/job do you think the dev team would add based on what we've seen already?

    If I post something you already wanted to write about don't feel discouraged from sharing your desired vision of our shared request.

    I'd like to see a Castlevania inspired weaponmaster job with a whip, flying swords and maybe a crossbow. Give it a vampire hunter aesthetic and I'm sold.

    A circus style juggler with assorted weapons and toys would be unique aesthetically. I'd like it be tied to the masked carnival as a lore bonus for people who play blue mage.

    The idea of a DPS chemist job with loose inspiration to Final Fantasy V's mix system but with much flashier and more offensive abilities would be good too. This has been a hot demand as the first non magical healer for sometime. I could see this being a dot based dps with a dot spreading nuke like a flashier combination of bane and fester from old summoner/scholar

    Despite it being a popular healer idea, I want chemist/apothecary to be a phys ranged. Give it a crossbow, and potion satchel, and its gameplay involves mixing up potions, and poisons (perhaps it could steal a system like NIN Mudras) with lots of debuffs, and debuff interactions. Also fill the job story quest to the brim with Breaking Bad, and Apothecary Diaries references -- like the quest/leveling achievement could be called 'The One Who Nox/Nocks.' The artifact gear could a mix between a hazmat suit, and a plague doctor outfit.

    I think we also need a pirate themed job like Corsair. Give it two guns, and a sword. Its gameplay could revolve around gaining, and maintaining buffs from a simple melee combo, and using those buffs on ranged rotation. I think having some kind of coin flip mechanic could be cool.

    A whip user a la Castlevania could also be pretty cool.

    Also, no matter what, I want them to experiment with walking casts for phys ranged.

    Chemist does seem like a likely choice, although I do agree it might be better as a healer.

    Honestly I think this statement high-lights the problem with Phys ranged in general - they function as supports AND DPS which is only really messed with because machinist exsists. I would love to see Chemist as a support class vs a RDPs - If I were pressed for a RDPs I would say Cannoneer from V or Maybe Dragoner given we are probably due to going to a place with lots of Dragons.

    That's... Honestly a good idea. The crossbow or whip could be the main weapon while the knives would be cooldowns and utilities.
    If at some point we go in a Void expansion (which we know we will), the job would completely fit the aesthetic.

    As for your questions...
    What I want: Gunslinger job or crossbow job, Dancer and Bard lean too much in the "Art" type of job while Machinist feels like it doesn't fit in the role.
    What I think: (Dual) Gun focused job or whip are highly requested at least from my perspective, that's what I believe will happen the most. Maybe they will even name it corsair to finally complete the Limsa empty guild.

    I'd like a grenadier if just to bring back grenado shot. But more seriously, someone literally using grenades like a wicked version of chemist. Doesn't Pathfinder have a similar sub class? I'd dig it.

    Thief maybe.
    Throwing knives and a lot more references to actual FF thief, have it like RDM where it's mostly a ranged but has a couple of melee moves.
    This won't happen because apparently Thief is too evil of a job for our morally righteous character (Who uses the Void and assassination arts from Garlemald.)

    Following the discovery of explosives, the engineers at Garlond Works developed a new combat class based on them.

    Prerequisite Machinist level 90, start level 90 in expension 8.0

    Quest giver: Northern Thanalan Explosives Expert "With a lot of boom to success"

    The gunner is the physical counterpart to the black mage. Initial commands commands have a minimum cooldown of 2 seconds. Correct positioning and observing the mechanics of the enemy are the key to success in doing real damage.

    Sniper shot: Low damage, but quick to execute, single target

    Aim: Set marked enemy as target, then wait 2 seconds before => procc

    Shoot in: Place an AOE on the field, then wait 2 seconds before => procc

    Proccs:
    Aim => Explosive grenade: Single target, medium damage

    Aim => Stun grenade, 5% more damage on target, 2 minutes

    Shoot in=> cluster grenade: AOE, medium damage

    Shoot in=> Phosphorus grenade: AOE + DOT one minute

    Shoot in=> Fire cover: Gives all players in the marked AOE 10% more protection against magical or physical damage for 2 minutes

    Instruments:
    Mineloader: +10% after single target attack, +5% after AOE attack
    If 100 %: procc "mine launcher"

    "Mine launcher" throws a mine at a marked location. If an enemy comes near it, it explodes. AOE with high damage, can be executed immediately. After 1 minute mine explodes.

    Cannon loader has status: barrel cleaned => load grenade => propellant charge == breech closed. This bar is loaded by damage that Grenadier does to enemies, if 100% procc "Bunker Shell"

    "Bunker Shell" does high damage, can be executed immediately

    "Set trench", instant group shield similar to Paladin, cooldown 2 minutes

    From level 110 on, "mine launcher" becomes a "mine barrier"

    "mine barrier" lays several mines in the target area.

    Limit break: 250 kg aerial bomb => 500 kg aerial bomb => 1000 kg aerial bomb
    Very high damage!
    Yes, you can carry heavy bombs in your Howitzer. How? It's Final Fantasy!
