    Tempera Coat/Grassa Separate abilities shared CD

    First off, I like having the ability to chose whether I want a personal mit or a group shield. Secondly I know there is the action change setting to "disable recast timer to prevent erroneous input."

    Currently in order to put out tempera Grassa you need to use 2 oGCDs, which is alright enough its a little clunky but fair it is what it is. The problem being unless you are doing it on a swiftcasted motif or comet it will clip into your next gcd even though you should be able to double weave at 2.48/2.5 gcd speed.

    Aside from the GCD clipping issues, this is the only mitigation in the game that can essentially fail to be put out. If you are in an instance of sustained aoe damage where you want the shield to be on a later stronger hit depending on server ticks it may or may not work. It is possible to have it pop while in tempera coat form and not be able to be spread to the party.

    The idea of having it be a shield you paint on yourself and then spread to the group is a cool idea but in practice it feels awkward or non functional.

    I think that tempera coat and tempera grassa should be separate abilities that share a recast it can still have the cd reduction of 60 seconds on the personal mit version and cd reduction of 30 seconds on the group version this would just allow for a less clunky mitigation.


    TLDR: Separate the abilities shared recast

    I mean they could trivially free up 3 hotbar buttons by merging the motifs and the muses into one skill each that auto-swaps, so yeah, definitely add separate buttons for this with a shared CD! Prevents faulty inputs and weird animation clipping.

    I have the exact same woes with Grassa too... This would be welcomed!

    Just make the merge/collapse optional, pretty much like many other actions that turns into the other one.

    It's quite a bit different from other actions that share buttons though. The problem with Tempera Grassa isn't the button space or even just that it takes two presses to activate. Yes it's a little inconvenient to have to press the button twice but the real problem is that in order to use Tempera Grassa you have to use Tempera Coat and Tempera Coat has to survive long enough for you to press the Tempera Grassa button. It's possible for you to activate Tempera Coat and have that personal shield get eaten in the 0.6s that are required to pass before you can spread it to the party.

    They should not be two actions that share a button. They should be two actions on two separate buttons that share a Recast timer.

    It is not always bad thing it is on the same button. For example, if there is dot Like during M2S heart phase, you can absorb few tick of dots before spreading the shield and benefit from both solo and group shield at the same time. If it would be separated button with same recast time, that would not be possible.

    They likely went overboard even creating Tempera Grassa in the first place. Even RDM's job-specific raidwide mitigation is magic only.

    I would rather just guarantee that my group shield goes out every time, even if it means I can no longer double dip--in most cases where you want a group shield, the additional personal shield will make zero difference anyway unless you've been personally racking up vulnerability.

    I'm so-so on this. There are unique optimisations for self defense then spreading into raid wide but at the same time I rarely use the self shield and almost always use it as a group mitigate tool.
