    DDoS and square enix state

    Statement of Disapproval

    To the Square Enix Team,

    We wish to express our profound disappointment and frustration regarding the recent DDoS attack that has severely impacted our gaming experience and that of many others. At a time when the community was deeply engaged in intensive and challenging activities, such as raids and Palace of the Dead, we were abruptly and unjustly disrupted by a situation that not only broke immersion but also led to significant loss of progress and rewards.

    It is both inconceivable and unacceptable that a company of Square Enix’s stature would allow its players to be subjected to such a level of disruption and frustration. The loss of raid progress and the invalidation of saves in activities like Palace of the Dead, particularly in solo mode, is a severe blow to the dedication and effort invested by each player. These events are not merely leisure moments; they represent personal and collective achievements reflecting the time, effort, and passion players put into their favorite game.

    The lack of compensation or an adequate solution to address the losses incurred due to these attacks is particularly disheartening. We expect Square Enix to take immediate action to resolve this situation and implement robust protective measures to prevent future attacks, ensuring that the gaming experience is fair and satisfying for all its users.

    Our community, which has committed itself to the game and to your company, deserves better treatment and assurance that their time and efforts are respected. We request that the severity of the situation be acknowledged and that fair and appropriate compensation be offered to the affected players.

    literally this. I made a forum account today to complain about the near daily ddos attacks, healer neglect, and headgear for viera/hrothgar neglect. I've really really been brought to my wits end with the ddos attacks, straw that broke the camels back.

    We pay a lot of money *monthly* to play this game and I frankly expect so much more. I'm approaching the point where I may need to cancel subscription till they do something about AT LEAST the ddos attacks.

    I completely agree! I was not a frequent forum user by any stretch until the constant error 90002s started happening and I tried every single fix that's available online with no success at stopping the disconnects from happening. I have not been able to level any of my jobs for the past 2-3 weeks, I have not been able to cap my weekly tomestones. I have not been able to make any progress with my crafters/gatherers. I simply have not been able to enjoy the game. FFXIV has been my favorite MMO for the past 10 or so years but the constant disconnects has pretty much killed my motivation to even log on because why bother trying when I'm just gonna get booted from the game in the first few minutes of queueing up for some group content? I don't even want compensation; I just want a permanent solution so I can play the game with a feeling that the people I'm playing with can rely on me to tank, to heal, or to deal damage without the worry that I might suddenly get disconnected.
