Some people have the brain capacity of a pigeon and need to tell everyone about it
Report them? Turn off shout/yell or move them to a different chat tab? Have you ever seen anything of value in those chats anyway? I feel like it's just cringe, normally.
There are also other methods of filtering *COUGH* *COUGH* which we won't go into details about.
Some a-hole has stated breaking their ad into 4 messages, so even when I filter discord and club, 2 other messages go through. I've started muting those characters now but they keep bringing out new characters for this spam. Is it reportable?
Luckily all RMT spam is gone with just ".COM", ".C0M", ".com-" and ".C" (the block letter). That's still nearly half the available filters though.

that's fair, and upon seeing the second picture you posted yeah that is pretty egregious
I'd like to give benefit of the doubt and say it's not to bypass any filters, but I don't see a need for the random block letters
I can understand using it for the venue name to make it pop, the ads in PF do it all the time, but random words? It's excessive and an eyesore to read to boot
The filter, while a step in the right direction, definitely needs a lot of work
The fact that it appears to be case sensitive and has a minimum character requirement seems like a big oversight. Upping the limit wouldn't be so bad either
Upon reading more responses in the thread it did give me ideas to better filter things out, like the iscord.gg idea, if the filter even works that way
They do not cheat/bypass the filter on purpose. They use those special characters because they are much more visible in the chat. That's it. It's the same what RMT spammers did. They used the special characters before the chat filters were introduced.
Cheers
If your on crystal dc you notice them all the time XDSame tbh. I don't even notice these venue ads in shout chat. And honestly I don't have any issue with people who do RP events trying to get the word out. People put in a lot of time and effort into a lot of these places. Personally I'm far more annoyed by a single venue taking up too many PF slots in the "Other" tab with ads, because that does start to feel like spam.
Shout chat in a populated city zone goes by so fast I don't even notice or care when people use it.
You open the door theres nothing in sight. You close the door wondering whats in sight. But lets be honest its probably gonna just let you down.
Most do! Even the worst filters. It's kind of the logic behind them, non exclusive to this game.
"iscord" catches Discord discord (D)iscord etc
If we had regex we could do *iscord to catch all of that and things like Biscord or Criscord, whereas ?iscord would only catch Biscord and Discord but not Criscord and (D)iscord etc.
But we don't have regex so you'll have to settle for creative things like iscord and .co
it/its - 14 accessibility is bad, ease of access is not accessibility, jobs are boring. Transphobia ruins real attempts at criticism and it's whack.
So they are obnoxious on purpose, got it.
Do you spam chat? no? then it wasn't targeted at you.As a professional photographer irl myself, I find it concerning that you choose to criticize others in a video game and label everyone as bad. If you find their posts bothersome, you could simply mute or block them.
It might be worth considering whether you're the one who needs a break from the screen if such things affect you this much. You simply lost credibility once you started insulting others.
But hey, you do you boo.
Good gposers or w/e you call yourself, if your work is great you won't need to spam the game chat every 5 minutes, people will seek out your work through word-of-mouth. No need to be annoying for that.
Also, duh, if only blocking/muting them was enough, its not like they get bots and a hundred players more to keep spamming chat all the time. Its never a single player.
