Her dreams, her resolve, are easily corruptible. I think her line at accepting the Dawnservant role is very concerning:
It's clear the reverse is true as well when Alexandria attacks shortly thereafter. This is why I think it will be simple for the writers to corrupt her into being antagonistic towards the player.
Looking at another fantasy/Sci-Fi series a certain god uses desire for change for the better to corrupt people. Obviously this god has no bearing on the Final Fantasy series, however, the concept of a desire, even a benevolent desire, corrupting is an easily transmissible idea. I even saw it on a Final Fantasy related game where each character represented a certain theme or concept. One such theme was Justice, and this character would do despicable things in the name of Justice.
At the end Lamat kept telling Sphene to let go and let her take over looking after her Alexandria and even acknowledged they were similar in there resolve to their people. Sphene is very clearly meant as a parallel for Lamat, probably originally as a foil though.
I would imagine it needs to start small. Koana said she was going to offer us a position in her government the night before the coronation, however, as adventurers we would obviously refuse. This could easily offend Lamat, haven't we been such good allies through the journey of Dawnservant selection and the war against Alexandria? Obviously we've brought a lot of joy to the people of Tuliyollal, it'd certainly be a shame for us to leave now. There are also unknown parts of the content that Lamat hasn't explored, clearly she needs us to hold her hand there. Perhaps we'll find something that shows Lamat just how absurdly dangerous we are.
As the resentment builds, it should boil into open hostility and aggression. She'll have to accuse the player of either attempting to overthrow her to become Dawnservants ourselves, or that we're not who she thought we were and that we're trying to take away the joy of Tuliyollal. (This should not be a trial, it will merely be an instanced fight like Gulool Ja Ja encounters).
