Items used for "collector's glove" (obsolete?)

From what I gather, there was formerly an item (?) called a cllector's glove that I am assuming was made with various gathered materials....like yellow copper.... that now seem to have no other use in game.

I am hoping to find a list of all these materials, so I can delete any that i have saved in my various inventories.

Anyone know where I can find that?

Collector's Glove was an ability that toggled the ability to gather collectables on and off. It was removed in Endwalker when collectables became automatic.

Gathered items that seemingly have other no other purpose, like Yellow Copper Ore, are part of said collectables system. They exist specifically to be turned in for scrips (or used in Aetherial Reduction.)

As Brightamethyst said, it was an ability removed from MIN/BTN though FSH still has it (it was renamed Collect).

Yellow copper ore and similar HW items were part of the original iteration of gathering collectables but are no longer included as of the 5.4 gathering changes. They were not removed entirely because they can still appear as items needed for GC provisioning missions for miners or botanists in the 51-60 range.

SE never posted a formal list of all the items affected by the gathering collectable changes to the best of my knowledge. Going through the gathering log, the ones I can quickly identify as having no use outside of the GC provisioning missions would be:

    Yellow Copper Ore (MIN)
    Pyrite (MIN)
    Chalcocite (MIN)
    Limonite (MIN)
    Yellow Quartz (MIN)
Green Quartz (MIN) (note: Red Quartz is still very useful so don't discard/vendor it with the other two)
    Fossilized Dragon Bone (MIN)
    Tektite (MIN)
    Light Kidney Ore (MIN)
    Cuprite (MIN)
    Eventide Jade (MIN)
    Wind Widow (BTN)
    Cloud Mushroom (BTN)

There are likely some I missed. The best thing to do is read the item tooltip if you have gathered materials that don't seem to have a purpose. Items with a use will have "crafting material" listed or mention that they're used only for Allied Society quests. They may also mention "Collectable: yes" or "Reductible: yes" but unless they were gathered as collectables, they are useless.

Also, don't assume that something is worth keeping even if it is marked as a crafting material. There are a lot of crafting materials only used to make low level consumables that no one uses anymore. I don't know how many different materials you're hoarding but it may be well worth your time and inventory space going through them all and checking the ones that you're uncertain about to see what they are used to make and if it sounds like something you'd want to have. The majority of crafting materials are very easy to get when you need them. Holding onto them means you're losing gil that you could have earned for the sake of a situation that may never happen.

Good thing is that you can right click an item and it will tell you what it is used for. You can get random untradeable crafting items for something you have already completed or never intend to complete. And just because it is untradeable doesn't make it valuable.

Also, the change from collector's glove to "automatic" was good. There were times people were making collectables and didn't use the ability to turns them into collectables. Next thing they know, they made two dozens spears with no value.
