Just because they don't comment "FEEDBACK RECEIVED THANK YOU CITIZEN" in every thread doesn't mean they're not reading them. For better or worse they act on feedback here all the time.

I'm sure they absolutely read here after seeing a thread pop up about how the graphics update might affect dark-skinned characters, and then later seeing them address those concerns on stage at Tokyo FanFest. Also walking back on some planned VPR changes after the DPS section get spammed with requests to not ease up on positionals (granted they ended up removing the debuff, but whatever). I think they're just kinda picky about what feedback they find worth addressing for better or for worse.
I am sure the devs read the threads from time to time, but it's most likely really only specific ones or ones that get a lot of attention, like the graphics update thread for example. The devs are most likely not going to want to look at the forums and read through a dozen different threads in each of the different languages that are just currently "Dawntrail bad, writers bad, devs bad" unless they WANT to see players roasting them. Can only really just hope if they do look at the forums that they actually take the feedback into consideration, but that's a BIIIIIG hope. As for moderation, it IS here, it's just a more passive "We'll take action if we absolutely have to" type of mindset it seems.
Dawntrail did you dirty girl, it did you dirty.
That but also it's more the community team's job to gather feedback and deliver it, especially given the language barriers.
This is a good mindset, actually. I've seen forums over-moderated and it's not good. Most moderators just over-moderate things, so really pushing the limits of what they'll allow is good and allows real debates to happen. Because debates get heated sometimes but, sometimes this is necessary. As long as it doesn't stop being constructive or go off-topic. I know many people may think posts here aren't constructive sometimes, but often they can be if thought of from certain perspectives, so just letting posters push the limits a lot allows real and honest debates. As for moderation, it IS here, it's just a more passive "We'll take action if we absolutely have to" type of mindset it seems.
I think it's important to repeat this point because it's clearly how it works. GMs moderate in the game only when reported. They seem to do exactly the same on the forums.
Aside from Final Fantasy XIV, almost everything they published was a massive flop and the few that weren't flops didn't really receive much attention at all..
A few highlights of how they're dumping money into a fire are
Forspoken
Babylon's Fall
Marvel's Avengers
Symbiogenesis
Also, the PS5 exclusivity for the FF7 remake's 2nd part and Final Fantasy XVI cost them a fuckton of sales as those weren't enough reason for people to buy the PS5.
And a few other project s they've put out that kinda fell off the face of the planet
Star Ocean The Divine Force
Tactics Ogre Reborn
Octopath Traveler 2
Valkyrie Elysium
I wouldn't be surprised if one of their most successful game releases in recent years that isn't 14 is the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters...
100% sure they listen to the forum. They just don't interact with the community or apply every feedback.
I remember a lot of feedback from here that was included in the game with 7.0.
I think in jp forums moderators tend to leave a note that a message was removed and a reason why. Here it happens silently for some reason, so people can only guess that it was done that way.The moderation is there. A lot of posts have been deleted, and people have clearly been given posting holidays.
What you won't find is one side 'cancelled' (potentially against your P.O.V.), the moderators (which I believe are contractors) are trying to walk a line down the middle which is where most people sit.
If they're smart, they stay far the hell away from these boards.
FFXVI ruined this expansion.
They can say whatever they want to say, but this isn't what I feel in DT. My 'kindness' has been repaid with 'you're collateral damage for future proofing the game'. I never had issues in a game, I consider myself 'okay' perhaps having alittle bit of photosensitivity when it comes to flashing lights. This game has been getting worse and worse visually since EW that I had to stop playing certain content, but at least I could AVOID it. Now it's everywhere. I'm scared of running dungeon roul out of fear I might have to physically look away from my screen, and I'm sure there are people who have it worse. (I experienced this in Castrum Meridianum and prior to Thunder God in alliance roul, CT became really rough on my eyes too)
They shipped a half baked product and I guess this is their 'kindness' for players supporting them...The outcry that came from both JP and EN in response to the half baked benchmark is them repaying 'kindness'. This update needed more time and more care should've gone into the player characters, I feel like expressions weren't tested, funny how 10 year old expressions look more natural than the uncanny valley we got.
Everywhere I look there's flickering shadows that catch my eyes on sharp edges or text (I think it's antialiasing), really bad lighting courtsey of CT, I could go on...but I'm tired. I want to be able to play the game again, until they 'fix' it, I won't believe anything.
Prior to the benchmark, I posted here for steam which is awful, and when the PvP rework hit with the onsal PLD cheese. Something that made me actually quit running FL and take to the forums.
Trust is earned, I'd like to see them earn it after they squandered it repeatedly.
This is the first time in any MMO or game really that I felt attached to my character, so losing her sucks alot (every unique feature that I adored about her got removed). I never thought I'd lose her, I lost my favorites, housing looks worse now, the world feels strangely lifeless (I could swear there used to be moving clouds...), I can't even GPOSE or take pictures because they botched the expressions. The literal only use of my sub rn is checking retainers and keeping myself busy with another game or the forums as I pray that they 'fix' this mess. Maybe if I pray hard enough a primal might manifest at this point.
Anyway, sorry for the rant/word salad. I hope they get their shit together because I'm terrified what they might do to my favorite characters, I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw Zenos was untouched but I remain terrified of what they might do to him.![]()
