I would exchange 2 new jobs in exchange for 2 new dungeons every patch. I miss the days.

Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
There used to be one MSQ dungeon per patch and one "optional" dungeon per patch. Of course, to keep Expert Roulette and option, you still had to do the optional dungeon.
As for giving up new jobs for overhauling current jobs? Of course. That would be like 21 new jobs anyway instead of just 2. I'd personally like to see party makeup change entirely to add a support role. It might make a light party 5 people instead - I don't know. Pigeon-holing everyone into just 3 roles makes for a lot of jobs playing the same or too similar.
Imagine - back in ARR, we actually got 3 dungeons every patch - 2 "Hardmodes", and one MSQ Dungeon. SqEx reduced the amount of Dungeons produced because they wanted to focus their developers ressources on other content and increase the quality of the content we are getting iirc.
If that is worth it or not... guess that depends on how much you enjoy hallway dungeons, I guess.
I'd want the return of job quests and job storylines. Along with specializations that alter jobs but are optional.
Maybe SMN can finally get 3 new primals.
Maybe AST gets their nocturnal sect back.
Maybe WHM can get cleric stance again and do beeg damage.
etc.
Perhaps in some ways allow the combining of certain job skills into new skills that you can put on a certain job, further encouraging the levelling of multiple jobs.
Maybe we can reintroduce elemental aspected skills as a basis for that system.
Would have to be something difficult to do, and devs would have to be quite selective on what skills can be combined, what jobs they can be put on, etc.
But if done well it would enhance the whole system and feel as if several new jobs would have been added. But going this route also means just adding no new jobs anymore afterwards. Or maybe 1 at most, because it would have to connect to such a complex system as well and I feel that 1 single job would already add in a LOT of new combinations (at least the way how I envision it)
I would absolutely love a Job overhaul. I believe the selection we have now can very well tide us over for an expansion.
Ever since the PvP overhaul arrived with Crystalline Conflict, I've wanted nothing more than to have similar Job identity in PvE content.
Howdy o/
