Please Fix Portraits

Usually I have to make sure the gear set is saved and alright, then go in and save the portrait. And then sacrifice two goats...

But seriously most things that make the portrait not work are not things that make the portrait unacceptable. You can usually just go in and save.

What always confuses me is when my gear set is updated. The gear matches what is in the portrait. The "save" button is greyed out meaning there is nothing to update, and the portrait is listed as "on."

Then I go into a duty and.... BLEH! Default!

I love the Portraits feature and they seem popular with the players, but they sure made them irritating as possible to deal with.

Still say that portraits should work like the adventurer plate. It doesn't matter what your current outfit looks like, it only shows what you were wearing when you "took the picture"

I haven't seen melding/extracting or repairing gear break them, but toggling headgear/visors/weapons does appear to. The main cause of them breaking were the shared glamours; if one gear set was updated, the other jobs in that role had to be as well, even though they don't have the error symbol in the portrait menu.

The suggestions here are good, but in the meantime, you'll have to continue indulging that thousand-yard stare. And the fact that crafters and gatherers can't use them for anything.

I honestly don't know why we don't have a "Use Adventurer Plate portrait" feature.

We can already have a working portrait in our Adventurer Plate that doesn't match what we're currently wearing, so why not use that tech? I just want an universal portrait that is not the default mugshot.

That's why I never update the portrait. It's useless everytime it resets. And I change glamour a lot so it's always fucked up.

A feature that was cool to play with for 15 minutes and then realize it's not worth my time because of the hassle. Aggravating.
