I'm offended by the word Latinx. No Hispanics, Latinas or Latinos use Latinx. Please stop spreading that BS here.I just stumbled across a Sena Bryer tweet (Not calling it X) which raised awareness for the cultural sensitivity Square Enix (SE) demonstrated in casting Latinx, Indigenous persons and LGBTQIA+ for specific roles.
See the tweet here: https://x.com/senabryer/status/1811632382375788690
Eg. ***SPOILER ALERT***
Zoraal Ja and Bakool Jaja are both voiced by members of the Latinx community.
The fact that SE is being culturally sensitive to certain geographies and allowing BIPOC voices to be heard, even taking a role in the forefront of an entire expansion, is refreshing to say the least. This ethnic sensitivity should be applauded, as it is unprecedented in the history of SE, and maybe the MMORPG genre in aggregate. As Sena Bryer points out, and it provides hope that further BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ representation might be possible in upcoming expansions.
Latinx is offensive to Latin Americans and Latins in general.
As a trans Latina, call me Latinx again and I'll hunt you down before knocking all your teeth out.
Does it matter? It's either up to the devs to decide on one or they can mix and match for different sub-regions if they really want to get into the weeds with it. They can even do a shitty accent, or an entirely made up one, but then every character should stick to that same shitty/made up accent. The important thing is that it's the same for everyone from that region, that no one sticks out because that's what breaks the immersion.
How arrogant for someone to ruin a language of a country they never visited they don't know nothing about in order to deem it right for their twisted morality. Who speaks of cultural appropriation is often those that commit that sin. As Italian i rebuke this nonsense.
Shaaloani was especially jarring with there being no consistency in which American accent they wanted to stick with.Does it matter? Howdy o/
The voice actor who voiced one of the most hated characters in video game history is literally as unlikeable irl as the character. Can we stop this garbage and go back to merit and talent?
I remember when we didn't focus so much on melanin. Kinda miss those days.
And can we not go down the road of insisting on shackling IRL affairs to fantasy? Please? It's like everything has to be somebody's soapbox nowadays and it's exhausting.

For all your Localizer shenanigans.
Again, your lack of travel around north, caribbean, and south america shows. A cuban and a mexican say the same word differently with no regard to the inflection used in english. You think you know what the word means but clearly you don't.That's a matter of pronuciation, which is related to accent.

Half or more than half of south american doesn't speak spanish; what'syour point with insunuating that the caribbean isn't qualified as a hispanic/spanish speaking region? Someone like you who's been nowhere outside your country shouldn't really be talking about geography.
Your hypocrisy's outstanding. "There shouldn't be rules, it's a fantasy,"while in the same breath saying "there should be rules" a sentence later. There's either rules or there's not.Does it matter? Can you elaborate on how it's hypocritical? I read that as the person wanting consistency...
