There already is a server they created specifically for EU players.
It's the Ragnarok server, transfers were open when the servers merged but are now closed. Supposedly server transfers will be available again some time after 2.0 launches. It's open to all players, but was the suggested server Yoshi created to help maintain a higher concentration of EU players in one place.
The thread in my sig would be a huge addition![]()
Bring Quality Notorious Monsters to FFXIV!

A scan feature, with an in-game bestiary. (And outside of game with an app that lets you see your own personal bestiary or something)
It would be nice to read the lore attributed to certain monsters.
While there are a lots of big things I can think of, as for a small changes I'd just like them to stop being innovative and make this game as much like pre2009 FFXI as possible to ensure this games success. I feel like 90% of their ideas to recreate the wheel suck. The wheel works just fine; just put some 20 inch rims on it.
Also deleting classes and following FFXI's job system would be a good start.
Changing the race names back to their real names would also be a nice touch.
Adding some new content once and a while that doesn't reward only WEAPONS would also be dandy.
Before all the former WoW players chime in and say "THIS ISN'T FFXI, I WILL TRACK YOUR ADDRESS AND KILL YOU IF YOU EVER TALK ABOUT FFXI AGAIN!1" FFXI was successful game and considering it's owned by Square in the first place there is no reason they shouldn't copy it. If you love WoW so much just go play it.
^Wooosh! I beat you to the punchline!!!!!!!!!!!! I bet all of you former WoW players were just dying to tell me to go back to FFXI weren't ya'![]()

Nice thread, I checked it out and threw in my two cents.

Sometimes I do, but Id love something that is less work for my shitty computer. :P
I have to disagree, a HUGE majority of the players I come across in FF14 are ex FF11 players looking fro a similar experience, and almost all of them are disapointed in FF14 and hanging on by their fanboy fingernails (myself included) and the promise of 2.0. They miss the jobs, quests, weapons/armour, sidegrades as opposed to new content upgrades, story/lore/depth, slow strategic combat, difficulty and sense of accomplishment etc. etc.Problem is I think they can't just make XI-2 and expect every XI fan to come back. Especially considering their history with "-2" FF's. Many have long quit XI for various reasons and aren't interested in going backwards no matter how much the graphics improve. As many said of WoW-clones "If they enjoy WoW style MMO's they'd play WoW" Same I think can be said of XI. If they preferred XI then they'd play XI. Always with some exceptions of course.
Reading Yoshi-P's letters leaves me thinking he and SE's main goal is to expand the fan base with XIV rather than try to focus on reclaiming XI's base. No matter how much XI fans loved that game the majority of the FF base, especially in the west don't much care for it, and the apathy is even wider in the MMO crowd. Which I think is a major issue XIV 2.0 is meant to change.
Always frustrates me seeing so many FF and MMO discussions going on other forums where XI and XIV never even receive an honorary mention, much less viewed in same light as the rest of the series + other MMO's.
Eventually I will edit my OP with all of the ideas you have all come up with, but im tired atm.
As much as I would love an updated version of XI, I simply don't have the time to put into it these days. I really like how accessible FFXIV is, because I can accomplish things while only having limited time to play. At the same time I really don't have the heart to go back to XI after all the nonsense I've read about it's state now. While there are a lots of big things I can think of, as for a small changes I'd just like them to stop being innovative and make this game as much like pre2009 FFXI as possible to ensure this games success. That being said, I still carry my own gripes about XIV and what it lacks compared to what XI did well. I have no problem comparing the two because they're both offspring of the same company. And let's be honest, what's the one thing you see all the time above anything else? Your character. You can deny it til hell's horns are sticking out of the ground, but they're updated versions of FFXI races. Comparison is a good tool to decide what works and what doesn't; from huts to skyscrapers the same method is always used: The roof goes OVER your head.
And to comment: Jobs: cool. I sort of dislike the idea that a WARRIOR doesn't have the ability to use all kinds of weapons, whatever. The names: Whatever. Drops: Cool.
