Shadow DC vs Dynamis DC

The Shadow DC was only really meant for people to use during the launch of DT as extra space in-case worlds got too full as they did with EW launch... A lot of servers had queues in the thousands at EW launch, they wanted to avoid that.

Their plan was to make a new temporary DC, let people travel to it and play on it while their regular one was full.

Oh I never knew that...interesting approach..??? I thought it'd be a permanent DC, but I guess it makes sense, EU isn't that large and no need to spread us thinly...

Shadow was designed as surge capacity to prevent long queues for people to play, it was never intended to last.

I see, I was out of loop since I didn't play for a long while, I only heard they were adding a new DC, just didn't know it was a temporary one
