    Game crashes my PC

    Hello
I joined FFXIV a few days ago but I'm unable to continue playing on my PC due to some weird technical issue In short, the game basically crashes my system usually around 20-30 mins after I start playing. I don't get any errors, the game just freezes and I'm unable to perform any action other than shutting down my PC with the power button. I've already tried several things to fix this but without success:

    - Reinstalling the game
    - Repairing files through the launcher
    - Reinstalling graphic drivers
    - Reinstalling Windows
    - Undervolting GPU
    - BIOS update
    - Disabling XMP in BIOS (was already disabled)
    - Checking disk and RAM for errors (no errors found)
    - Disabling any overlays
    - Setting FPS limit to 60

Nothing works. It's also worth to mention that all temperatures are normal so it's not a heating issue. And the weirdest thing is that it's the ONLY GAME that crashes my PC. I can run more demanding games like Cyberpunk or Elden Ring with no issues for long hours, but not FFXIV. Here is my specs:

    CPU: i7-11700K @ 3.60GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8GB
    RAM: 32GB 3200MHz CL16
    MB: Gigabyte H510 V2
    PSU: 700W 80 Plus Bronze
    System: Windows 11
    I use 2560x1440 resolution / 165hz refresh rate.

I have no idea why this keeps happening. Any ideas?

    Try following:

    1. download Hwinfo: https://www.hwinfo.com/download/
    2. start it with "Sensors only"
    3. Create a log. There are buttons in the bottom of the window.
    4. play so for 20 minutes.
    5. upload the log somewhere so i can look into it. You can also zip it if it gets too big.

    Cheers

The file has been deleted. Can you upload it again? Maybe to a different hoster.

Thank you. Maybe i have already found the reason. If you look under the column "+12V [V]" then you see, that the voltage goes down to 11.592 V. This is not good. It is very likely, that your PSU is dying. And yes, i know, that the ATX spec says 5% tolerance. But instability issues start usually at <= 11.7 V. You could also remove the power connector from the motherboard and put it back again. If there is some oxidation on the contacts then it fixes it. But if it does not help then replace your PSU. And if you buy a PSU then do not buy a bronze PSU. The quality of bronze PSUs is usually not very good. Gold, Platinum and Titanium are way better.

Thanks! I guess that makes sense, my PSU is quite old I'm gonna replace it soon, hope it will help. But still it's pretty weird that the crashes don't happen when I play any other game. Does FFXIV require so much power?

It does not require so much power. But it strains the hardware in a way, that the power consumption of the hardware becomes very spiky. And Nvidia's Ampere GPUs are another reason for it. They can also create huge power consumption spikes. Nvidia relaxed it with the RTX 4000 series. If the PSU is old then the capacitors in it can only store a fraction of their original energy capacity. And if there is a big energy consumption spike then they run out of energy very quickly and then the voltage goes down. And yes, FF14 is very odd in this case. But it is also a very good stability test.
