For me personally, it is because reward sucks. I got my glowing sage weapon from ranked, Then l never plan to play ranked again. I love pvp but l only play casual. Ranked needs to be taken more seriously, so that introduces more stress. I am getting more stressed but what do l get in return? Nothing. The least Se needs to do is to not lock the glowing weapon behind diamond. Make it that you can get fraction of the weapon if your rank is below diamond. That would alleviate a lot of the issue. And they can go much further in rewarding people. Such as if you win 30 ranked games, you can get a token That can buy a savage book, And you can do it maybe like twice a week.
Honestly, Se really need from gw2's ranked reward. I crafted a legendary pvp trinket In gw2 recently. One of the material required me to win 125 ranked games, but nothing required me to get to a certain rank. Se needs to leaning In That direction, but it is their game after all
