    Playtime compensation for unplayability of FFXIV due to travel restrictions.

    As the title says, it seems to be in order that players are given some free playtime as they are forced to stay on Dynamis (maybe other data centers outside of NA, I don't know what it's like in EU) and as such are unable to do anything they -pay- to be able to do. I personally feel like a mistreated customer who has wasted their money on a dishonest and uncaring company. Raiders, RPers, entire communities based on social gatherings, small groups of friends etc have all been put through hell without good reason, without warning, and without a fair opportunity to be where they want to be playing, alongside those they wish to play with. This entire situation and every bit of damage done is solely because of square enix making bad decisions and much-less-than ideal execution of these bad decisions.

    The way I see it: Give us free playtime to compensate for the amount of time you've kept us locked up, and more playtime for every day the restrictions stay in place, or

    Unlock all servers for one week and give everybody a free homeworld transfer to wherever they want to play. Then, restrict it however you want (within reason).

    Players are dropping the game, making the effects of your mistake even worse. People are not happy. You're losing subscriptions and gaining an even worse reputation. Show us that you respect and care about the customers that print you billions of dollars, like any company worth supporting would do. It's long overdue.

    If you're a player who doesn't see a problem, because you're all cozy where you are, I'm happy for you. Keep scrolling please. o/
    This is not a debate thread, but a message to the developers and their PR spokesperson, Yoshida.

    As a fellow Dynamis player, my only thoughts on this are:

    Nobody ever said that it was guaranteed you'd be able to travel data centers 100% of the time. Yoshida didn't, the TOS didn't, the game doesn't. Perhaps next time consider staying on the same DC as your raiders, RPers, entire communities based on social gatherings, small groups of friends etc. The game didn't open Mog Station for you and force you to transfer to Dynamis.

    I sympathize with your problems, but demanding a refund just makes you look entitled.

    I did consider staying where I wanted, but that wasn't allowed at the time of character creation due to all of NA being fully locked down. So yeah, forced into this mess, and the amount of time since creation should have allowed me an opportunity to -pay- for a transfer. Yet they forced me to remain in and on dynamis, without any chance to get back to my actual homeworld/dc. Thanks for the tip though.

    ....and for the record, I am entitled. Entitled to voice my feedback to the developers, and entitled to take my money elsewhere if I don't like what they do. I encourage everyone to do the same.

    You created your character within the past 2-3 months, and your lodestone looks the way it does? Not buying it.

    I know, the 6 or so weeks I spent being trapped in free trial content because of the way squenix mishandles the pre-purchases of expansions really slowed me down! Imagine if I hadn't been capped at 70 for half of my characters lifespan, and had access to shb+! just imagine if I had been given the codes I paid for when I paid for them! I'd have had a long list of 90s instead of 70s. You might keel over and die if you were to see some of the alts I have, which probably have more levels and crowns than your main. xD

    Funny, I don't see anything ever saying that you CAN'T travel data centers 100% of the time on their Lodestone guide.

    Why would you be entitled for a refund when you still played the game? Specially after months of creating your character.
    It's like if you go to a restaurant and don't like the food. Eat it in its entirety on multiple occasions and then later, ask for a refund because you didn't like it.
    You made a purchase that didn't turn out how you wanted. It happens. But you still bought and used it for months.

    Now the thing about a free transfer and allowing you to move is a more grounded request that makes sense with your situation. So that I can get behind.

    I agree about the transfer too. They should have given us the chance to move, just like they did when they created crystal and shuffled servers. In regard to the first bit, it's not a refund. It's more like getting a free appetizer at a restaurant because they took too long to bring out the steak. It's giving playtime to makeup for the problems they caused. Like when EW launched and the game was unplayable, they gave like 3 weeks of playtime. This isn't as severe, but it's still a huge problem. They need to do something about it. It's really rough out here on Dynamis. I don't want to quit either, but I will be done if they don't figure this out quickly. It's been longer than long enough for them to fix it , yet they haven't even acknowledged it. Somethin's gotta give, ya know? I know my absence won't make or break the company, let alone hurt them, but that's entirely irrelevant. If I'm ready to walk away when my sub expires, while being completely hooked on the game, that only means a lot of other people have already left. Just bad business moves and losing customers, they should be more aware and communicate + fix the problems since they're so obsessed with profits over literally anything. Losing subs isn't profit.

    Literally agreed that they can change the game anytime they want to. And told you if you don't like that, uninstall.
