Square Enix's Problematic Voice Actor and the Handling of Critique

    Hey everyone,

i hope i am in the right spot for a post like this.

I wanted to bring up an issue that has been really bothering me as a long-time fan and paying customer of Square Enix. Recently, one of their voice actors has been making waves on social media, and not in a good way. This person has a habit of playing the victim card repeatedly, but what really crossed the line for me was when I expressed my dislike for something related to their work. Instead of a civil discussion, I was insulted and labeled a racist in their Twitter posts.

As a paying customer, I have the right to voice my opinions, especially when it comes to a product I've invested in. It's unacceptable for someone representing Square Enix to treat fans and customers this way. Everyone should have the right to critique without being subjected to personal attacks or being called names.

What's even more frustrating is how Square Enix seems to be handling this. Instead of addressing the concerns or at least acknowledging them, they're closing down threads where people are trying to discuss these issues. This isn't how a serious company should handle critique or customer feedback. Closing threads and silencing the conversation only makes things worse and shows a lack of respect for their fanbase.

Adding to the frustration, it's worth noting that Square Enix has already canceled someone in the past for merely liking tweets and following people who were perceived to be right-wing. It seems there's a double standard here when it comes to how they handle the behavior of their talent. How is it that one person can be canceled for something as trivial as their social media activity, while another can insult paying customers with impunity?

I hope that Square Enix reconsiders how they're handling this situation because this isn't just about one voice actor—it's about how the company values and respects its customers.

Oh, absolutely, you're in the right spot—and I couldn't voice my agreement more clearly! It seems like the actor's social media antics are making more headlines than their actual work. Maybe they're auditioning for a role in the next big drama series, "Victimhood: The Sequel."

But seriously, it’s wild how paying customers are suddenly the villains in this narrative. I mean, I was just here to enjoy some games, not to end up on a Twitter hit list! It’s almost like they’re using their voice acting skills to create new characters—like the "Customer Critique Crusher" and the "Thread Terminator."

And let’s talk about Square Enix shutting down threads faster than I can skip through a dialogue cutscene! If only they were as quick with their game updates, am I right? But in all honesty, it’s a pretty poor play when a company silences the very people who keep their servers running. I guess they’re still stuck in the "silent protagonist" phase.

Oh, and the double standards? Yeah, it’s like Square Enix is rolling a D20 and only critting on certain customers while the rest of us get hit with status effects like "Muted" and "Frustrated." Maybe they think we won't notice, but hey, gamers love uncovering hidden mechanics!

Anyway, here’s hoping Square Enix pulls a plot twist and starts treating all fans with the respect they deserve. Until then, I guess we’re all just stuck in a game where the final boss is Customer Service!

Haha, glad the DnD reference hit a critical hit with you! Honestly, it feels like this whole situation is just one big side quest that we didn’t ask for but somehow got roped into anyway. Maybe we should form a party and take on this "PR Nightmare" raid boss together—Square Enix clearly needs some help with their aggro management.

And hey, speaking of Final Fantasy, this drama is starting to feel like a never-ending fetch quest, where we keep bringing our concerns to the devs, but all we get in return are potions of silence and shields of ignorance. Maybe if we grind long enough, we’ll finally unlock the elusive “Customer Respect” gear set—although, at this rate, it’s probably a rare drop.

But let’s keep this conversation alive and grind for that EXP! Maybe we can get more folks to join the guild here and add their voices to the mix. After all, the more players in the discussion, the better our chances of getting Square Enix to stop using mute as their go-to ability. So come on, everyone—don’t just AFK, let’s turn this thread into the main event!

Yeah i understand they are very careful to to make any official statements that might get them legal liability, really.... but its sad its been many years since we had some more posts of Devs, mods or even Yoshi himself...

But even a "ok we cant do anything right now but youve been heard" would help a lot...

The last helpful mod post was "hey thanks for all the feedback for the graphical updates and bugs we will do our best to incorporate em"

-Even for the savage raids we only knew from some chinese interview(?) that yoshi said something like "yeah sry we messed up the dps, wont happen again"

They're likely evaluating their options. Bryer's been causing drama, actively enraging the community. Rash action is liable to cause blowback. Doubtless everyone's been given a quite literal template on what to say... but the silence is no less frustrating, even working a position where that happens to me sometimes.

If they say they've heard us, it can be read as action being taken, riling up one group. If they stay silent, the issue continues to fester. Something has to be said eventually, it's just PR folks trying not to light the house on fire causing the silence. Doesn't make the smell of gasoline any better, though.

If associates could be fired for years-old likes, I see no reason Ms. Bryer should not be penalized for an ongoing, active situation. Replace her with someone better at acting and less controversial.

exactly. I doubt that many people who actually liked Wuk Lamat as a charakter will start hateing her now which is sad. If you fire her and hire a new person this will cause a sh*tstorm from Bryer's fans, if they silently take it, they will get a sh*tstorm from the people who are offended by her ( for example me ) and if they will take her side well probably the same will happen when they stay silent but 2 times worse. So its kinda a pat situation. From my oppinion they will lose one crowd and with the next move they will decide which one. For example i will not support a company which is hypocrtical. If you are against politcal stuff in video games, ill be your best friend i hate it aswell. But if you fire one for her likes and follows and tolorate another person who is litterally insulting your paying customers, then this is the sign that a company doesnt need me my money or anything else. DT is splitting the community since release now and well, if this is for some the last drop, then well many will leave. So what is the goal then ? hoping that every housing slave will pay willingly like it is now for years ? Hoping that all will forget it and praise them like it was in the past or dont they think into this direction at all ? Anyway this evolves into rant right now back to the topic. I think i would be happy if they would be some sort of statement at all since i think being silent is always the most bad way for a company. Why ? Because you rise the sign of inconsistency with it. If they fire her for example it would be consistent if you regard the case of the singer of Answers, Dragonsong, Revolution, but at the other hand this is for many people the voice of Wuk Lamat now. What are your thoughts whats the best outcome for SE or CBU3 in here.

The 2nd poster lied as this is more about grammar and spelling errors. Also not sure why there needs to be idk by this point how many more threads about this topic.
