This the new thread?
Sena is talking out of her ass once again, it seems. Great job hiring her! Great look for the company.
maybe first look into "Innocent" Sena's history before defending them
someone calling a community transphobic and misogynists for not liking a expansion they feature in (the community criticizing the writing overall sometimes not even mentioning Wuk Lamat)
Blaming their failure to get a job on the industry being transphobic even though the VA Industry is currently not only striking but also hard to make a living out of
Them and their fans forcing a female VA to quit their job because per Sena they are not "suited" for the job?
A few people in that other thread wanted to hear Wuk Lamat do the Praetorium monologue but I could never make that precious ray of sunshine say such colonialist things - this was a tweet by Sena btw

Why y'all replying to the new Titanmen alt?
But...IS it Black Gospel though? Why couldn't Sena have said Smile is just "Gospel" music, or "Gospel inspired?" Hell, do we even know if it IS Gospel and not just, you know, something that was sung with a Choir in mind while it was being developed? I won't pretend I know music, but why did Sena specifically have to say Black Gospel? By trying to tie a song's assumed "style" to a skin color or race or religion simply because it "sounds" like something they would sing, it brings up a completely unnecessary generalization and, in a way, could be seen to some as them trying to "meat shield" specific folks by dragging them into something in an attempt to get them to Shield & Sword for "their side", when ultimately they didn't need to be dragged into it in the first place.
If it is black gospel, then it's black gospel. If it's not, then it's not. I will not pretend that I know what kind of song Smile is suppose to be categorized as. I am sure though that there are players who are black and/or christian that have their own opinions and feelings on the song Smile and they are free to either love the song or hate the song as well as state their opinion on how they feel about someone tying said song to their race and/or religion.
Dawntrail did you dirty girl, it did you dirty.
Finally, I was looking for a post like this. You look up "Gospel" and it's mostly black singers that come up, just call it gospel ffs. Calling it "black gospel" is giving me "black job" vibes. What even is "Black Gospel music"?? It's just "Gospel music". Why do we go out of our way to segregate and divide ourselves??
And how on Earth is Smile supposed to be Gospel music? Just because it includes a choir? It doesn't have the typical deep soulful vocals.
It's a song for a Japanese game, composed by a Japanese man and sang by a Japanese American woman. It's included in a Latin America-themed expansion and is performed during a coronation and a bomb-making montage.
It literally has nothing to do with Black people, Christianity, churches or anything of the sort.
Sena Bryer was getting a lot of backlash for her #1 below par performance and #2 her very toxic stream of consciousness on Twitter, so she decided to drag the Black community into her own drama as a distraction, and decided to paint us, the FF community in general as racist.
I like Smile, I genuinely do, but the hate It's getting is also entirely justified as it's uses are very out of place, especially in that bomb-making scene.
No, people who dislike it are absolutely not racist and Sena should be ashamed for using Black people as a meatshield like that.
Thanks again for sharing this video. They earned an new subscriber (me), thanks to you.I just wanna share this video again cuz, example of Black Gospel and the YTber/Vocal Teacher who breaks down the song does other Black Gospel/Religious song break downs that also hightlights some of the specific singing/vocal stuff that is common in black religious/gospel music.
EDIT: I'mma keep it a buck with you. We don't mind the term "black gospel"

Someone somewhere possibly not liking some genre of music, highly problematic?
I don't channel this attitude often, but good god we need real problems. On top of our existing ones, as it seems.
I think what's more problematic is how people will excuse someone's behavior, no matter how bad because they have the right combination of pronouns or flags in their bio. Apologists need to do better.
