Has anyone been having a lot of disconnection issues lately?

Hi, all!

I have asked this elsewhere, but has anyone been having a lot of disconnection issues while playing FFXIV lately? I have been playing since October last year and while I’m adoring my journey, I have been constantly kicked from the game most nights (just this evening, I have counted 4 kicks from my server with the error of 90001).
I live in the UK and I’m on Light/Alpha server, and while I understand that the game suffered a series of DDOS attacks as of late, would this be the main cause?
Have got myself an internet booster as well as an Ethernet cable, but to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated! ❤️

Yes, me too. It's been going on for about 4 days now. I've been kicked multiple times and I keep lagging in instances. My internet is fine.

Hey! Thank you very much for your reply! I’m sorry to hear that you’re suffering the same issue, too. It’s a very frustrating situation, that’s for sure. My sister has been lucky, and has not had any issues whatsoever. I really hope they address the situation, soon.

Lots of DDOS attacks, and Square has a penchant for using shitty NTT nodes which regularly go down or throttle connections. That's originally what made me start posting on the forums last year.

If you have a VPN, give that a try, it will probably (hopefully) fix the issue. I've been having connection issues the last couple weeks -- lots of dropped packets. Using my VPN and swapping to a server in Arizona has mostly solved the issue, though I still get the occasional hiccup.

Hey! Thank you for your reply! These DDOS attacks are actually insane. I really don’t understand why people would go out of their way to cause this much misery for others. I think in the live letter that Yoshi-P did a while ago, they are aware of the situation, but how they are going to fix it is a mystery.

I do have a VPN (I have a Norton Antivirus subscription, which comes with a VPN) so I’m going to give this a go later tonight.

There have been a lot of complaints from people regarding unusual latency and disconnects lately. Thwy have been getting DDoS attacks, but I've also heard that there's some issues regarding routing too. I was having some problems with being disconnected several times per day, when i usually disconnect once or twice every 3 months. My issues seem to have been resolved, ut since then ive seen an uptick of people asking about it and complaining.
